The story involves Lorn and his fellow Kadothian & brother in arms- Nast and the heroine Casey Westfall.

The story starts when Casey gets a call from her older sister Roxy who is in the military. She tells her sister to get her college girlfriends and head for home-pronto. Wont say why but just said things are going to go downhill fast .The older sister tells Casey to think "Lord of the Flies" stuff and that martial law and all and to get home...and that is how this story starts off. I was drawn in immediately. I had secondary characters fleshed out for me that I wanted stories for (i.e. Roxy the older sister, kimber, paige & dawn -college friends) So Casey gathers her friends and they head for her home and make it , barely when the flare hits.

16 hours later , some intense magnetic event occurred which took down every plane and killed alot of people and disrupted electrial systems. After being up all night, Casey finally falls asleep and dreams of Lorn....Lorn sees finally that his bondmate is waiting for him and she is on Earth and this is where he needs to go get her. but he cannot take his brother in arms with him, because the hive threatens their race so he must stay behind to continue to train the troops-their race is two men to one woman whereas in on earth that is not how things are done and Lorn is aware that he must work fast and hard to get Casey to come back with him ....and that is where the pace really picks up

I couldnt put this book down. There were so many twists and turns....I didnt think I would like the SF element but actually loved it. Found it very truthful ; loved the cast of characters in this story and cant wait for the secondary characters to get their own books.

Perfect summer reading. Cant go wrong reading Ann Mayburn.

Casey's Warrior's follows the story of Casey who is one of thousands of women targeted by an alien race who need women to not only continue their race but to not go insane. They come from a galaxy most defidently far far away, and have arrived via wormhole with no intentions of leaving without some of the earth women that are their soul mates (even daring the small space in time that the wormhole will actually be open for). This male dominate race is incredibly good looking but since they live for thousands and thousand of years they have found bloodmates with whom they belong to but each needs couple(?) needs a women in order to truly survive.

This is a great story. The characters are rich, the worlds involved believable. The menage couplings (which there are) do not come off as forced, but rather does unfold as any romance should. Quite a feat when these aliens have Reaping ships orbiting Jupiter to wisk away the compatible women. They 110% believe that the decision of joining an alien couple is that of the womens but they are not above any wooing technique in the book or in their case from what they have watched of human movies. You can't help but love them :)

This is a book that I ended up putting my normal life on hold in order to continue reading. Thank goodness my friend who recommended the book to me after starting it a couple hours earlier had me reading it on a rainy day where I didn't have anywhere to go or I might have been in trouble. So make sure to save this book for when you have time to read it in one go.

In many ways the book is similar to the series Kindred Brides but with a deeper story plot, characters, and over all issues. I would say if you are a fan of that series you will most likely also love this book and future series.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

In the interest of full disclosure, let me preface this review by stating that paranormal is my least favorite romance genre. That being said . . . I absolutely LOVED Casey’s Warriors by Ann Mayburn, even if it is paranormal.

Casey’s Warriors grabbed me almost immediately with intriguing mysteries and fascinating characters. In order to properly understand the universe that Ms. Mayburn has written about, she included a lot of historical information about Kadothia but I was never lost or confused. Ms. Mayburn has an amazing ability to write about a fictional place in such a way as to make it seem real.

Lorn Adar has been searching for his bondmate for hundreds of years. If he doesn’t find her soon, he will lose his mind to the madness that threatens all the unbounded males of his world. A wormhole opens up between his world and Earth, allowing Lorn and many others to seek a woman who will complete them.

Casey Westfall’s life changes as soon as she meets the gorgeous Lorn. She falls in love quickly but doesn’t know how she can give up her family and friends in order in order to be with Lorn. There is so much she needs to understand and accept about life in Kadothia. One of the biggest differences is that Kadothians live in polyamorous family units. Casey will need to accept not only Lorn, but his blood brother Nast and other brothers in arms in order to prevent the madness from taking over. It’s a lot for a human to accept.

But Ms. Mayburn wrote such an emotional book that it made it easy for this human to not only accept these polyamorous family units, but to appreciate them.
