Concise, relevant, and easy to read, this manifesto provides 10 steps to getting started with your cash therapy practice which I found very helpful as a starting point. A couple critical tips I believe are: Develop Your Team, and Discuss With Like Minded People. With regards to those tips, I must also highly recommend reading his blog.
I have communicated with the author on several occasions, and find that he is truly passionate about sharing his experience and research to help therapists realize their goals.
RECOMMENDATION: Take a lunch break or two and read this, it will be worth your time.
A brief overview of the key factors for starting a business are provided with good commentary about the mindset required for such an adventure.
You get to the end and you have a choice... a good situation as well as a bad one because you either to go for it or remain in the same place.
I have had the privilege of knowing Paul Potter for a while and he has the heart of a servant. His ebook introducing what it takes to start and run a cash based practice is a must read for any therapist who is contemplating going into private practice.
Be sure to check out his podcast at http://paulpotterpt.com/
the reason is this book is one of the very few that addresses the most important reason for going into business for yourself the WHY ; the what and the how are the easy part but long term success depends on the why
Written in an easy to read format it is a must read first step for anyone considering private practice especially students.I also recommend visiting the authors website for practical information on the what and how. it is an outstanding website paulpotterpt.com
