Long battery life which holds up to approx. 515 shots with just one charge has been achieved. You can also shoot approx. 640 shots when using Eco Mode. You can enjoy carrying this for a trip as it enables you to take a lot of pictures easily.

I have traveled extensively and always have trouble getting good shots in many places due to over-exuberant lighting conditions (what photogs call "wide dynamic range" lighting... with extreme bright and dark dark in the same scene). Luckily, the High-Dynamic-Range (HDR) feature of this camera makes incredible photos under such conditions. This, along with small size and good battery life, makes this my go-to camera for traveling light (i.e. when I don't want to lug my DSLR around, which probably wouldn't take as good pictures anyway.)
Of course, it has all the other standard photography modes, but the HDR thing is what seals the deal for me. It basically takes 4 or 5 pictures in rapid succession (well under a second, but you still have to hold steady), and them combines them into one picture with perfect exposure of all areas, light or dark. It can supposedly even do the same to get many areas of differing focus all focused clearly in the final picture... but I haven't needed that feature yet.
This camera also is incredibly fast from power-on to being ready for the first shot. And it focuses faster than any point-and-shoot camera I have ever seen (a good DSLR focuses a little faster, typically, but also weighs as much as 4 of these cameras.)
I have had other Casio cameras in the past (as well as many other brands, which can't really even come close), and they have all been good. I wish they were more commonly available in the US, but luckily, Amazon was here to rescue us!
I LOVE this camera. So many solid features and so easy to use. When digicams were new, I had a rule about not buying cameras from companies whose main area was other electronics. CASIO has proven me wrong, time and again. Glad to see they are still going strong. Apart from CASIO, I find CANON cameras about the most useful... especially because they can usually run some open-source software add-ons which provide some handy extra features.
I know this might sound like a commercial, but I can't say enough good things about this camera.
1. Long battery life. It has never died on me yet, even on vacation when I snapped hundreds of pictures a day (I do charge it each night.)
2. Instant reaction time. Takes another picture immediately and has practically no shutter delay.
3. Size. Compact and fits in your pocket, but has a 30x zoom!
4. A much better buy than the Cannon PowerShot SX 500 I also own. Practically the same price, but the Casio is way better in all the aspects I listed above.
HDR is amazing on this camera, and the ability to take 30 shots in one second gets you action pics NO other camera can take (and I'm a pro photog with 8 cameras)...
