Casio

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.

Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

I'm not a watch person as I feel constricted when I'm wearing anything but clothes. I even feel claustrophobic when I wear my wedding band (and not for the obvious reasons). With that being said I needed a watch for the gym and for work and dreaded the idea of having to put it on. When I saw this watch online it looked attractive and the reviews mentioned that it was comfortable to wear so I gave it a try. I am glad I did! It is so darn comfortable that I forget that I'm wearing it and it looks so good that I get complimented on it regularly. I seriously can't get over how good looking this thing is out of the box. The functionality is also something I am really starting to enjoy as I'm just now starting to read through the manual. The instructions are easy to follow which is a plus. I would definitely buy this exact same watch again if I were to lose this one.

I was looking for a good looking yet durable watch for work purposes. I work in a warehouse and do a lot of heavy lifting, so i needed something tough.

I decided on this watch for the durability and the color. Working in a dusty warehouse i felt a white or light color would show more dirt and grime. so the black and blue was perfect for me.

The 5 different alarms i find surprisingly useful. I set them one minute before break times to get a head start because traffic is heavy. The count down timer is great too and makes workouts at home more structured as i can do each workout on high pace 3 minute intervals.

The design for the face of this watch is amazing, i feel as though im wearing a James bond watch. Counting down to the very second, i found the watch fairly easy to read in bright or dark settings. I am in love with g shocks now. And believe that i may become a collector of them. Great watch

I noticed the reviews were mixed on this watch when I was considering buying it. I was a bit nervous at first but bit the dust and made the purchase anyway. I have to say I am very pleased with this watch. The band is a bit thinner than my previous G shock watches. It doesn't seem quite as rugged as others I have had over the years, but the fit is really nice. It is softer and stays put better on my wrist. I don't even notice it on my arm. It is the same size as my previous G Shock watches which I like a lot. It commands attention and is a serious looking watch. I don't mind it being so shiny as it looks a bit more dressy than the typical G Shock watch which looks more like a sports watch or even a work watch. It is much easier to read the face to me with bigger numbers and the background color. I like that a lot as my eyes aren't what they used to be. The night light works great as do the other features. The book is a bit hard to read as the print is so tiny, but the setup was easy especially if you have had G Shock watches in the past. The menus are exactly the same and easy to figure out. Initial setup took only seconds to complete and the watch run perfectly. I am very happy with this watch. It looks nice, plenty rugged, good price, nice presentation case and the vendor got it to me in no time at all. I would give it 5 start if it were a bit more thicker in the band. The plastic seems to be just a bit thin and softer than I am used to. I really hope it is just as strong as I tend to be hard on my watches. My previous G Shock watches were built like tanks and I have always loved that. Time will tell how this performs over the years. But if you are considering a nice new G Shock watch I would say this watch is a very good buy. I think you will be very happy with your purchase.

I've been wearing G-Shock watches for the past 17 years consecutively, this being my 4th watch (and my last one isn't even dead yet). 4-5 year lifespan isn't bad at all, and that's usually just from replacing the watch when the battery dies (I don't trust the waterproof seal after a battery change....just a personal pet peeve).

From previous reviews I had my concerns, so I thought I would share my own findings.
1) Yes, the band is shiny. It looks great though, so unless you are planning on going to a fancy business meeting, it should fit almost any other occasion (and personally I'm still going to wear it to my business meetings, but with my huge wrists I can pull it off).

2) The face is slightly bigger than the DW9052-1V model, which is already quite large. For my huge wrists it's great, but if you are more slender you may want to take that into consideration. It's 5 cm diameter, and 1 cm thick, so cutting out a cardboard cylinder to try on your wrist might not be a bad idea.

3) The blue is slightly darker than the picture illustrates. This makes it look even better in my opinion, and does not stand out like a bright colored children's watch the aqua-blue image alludes to. It's actually closer to a royal or navy blue. Looks great.

4) The white numbers was a concern of mine, especially from reviews. However, everywhere from low light to direct sunlight the time is easily visible (I think partly because the face is so large). For those of you like me, who like wearing a watch so you can sneakily check the time in a meeting without anyone noticing, you will have no problem.
