Product description

Stay one step ahead of Mother Nature with the Solar Powered PRW3000, incorporating Casio's new Triple Sensor Version 3 engine. Advanced CASIO original technology has allowed for a 95% smaller direction sensor and 90% reduction in sensor power consumption compared to previous models. Despite their smaller size, the new sensors in this model delivers better accuracy and energy efficiency. This model can measure Altitude in 1m increments (previously 5m) and display compass readings with 60-seconds of continuous measurement (previously 20 seconds). In addition to the altimeter and digital compass, the watch's Barometer, incorporates a unique Barometric Pressure Tendency Alarm that alerts the wearer to sudden changes in pressure readings. Design features include a compact, sleek case and soft urethane band for a better fit to the wrist. One-touch access to digital compass, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature readings keep important information at your fingertips. Other features include Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping, 100-meter water resistance, and more. Everything about these models is designed and engineered to make them essential pieces of outdoor gear. Black resin band digital with black face.

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.

Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch I have ever owned.
By James on May 11, 2017
I have worn this watch for a little over two years straight and I must say it is the best, most durable watch I have ever owned! It has come through hell and back with me and hasn’t skipped a second. The glass has taken multiple hits from rocks as well as bullet casing and hasn't even got a hairline scratch. The only wear on the watch is the edge of the face the paint has worn a little but I like it better like that. I have taken the watch well below the bar limit too with no issues. I have worn this watch every single day, all day long for 2 years and I plan to keep wearing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets 'er done
By Trav on December 27, 2016
I will probably elaborate on a future review edit... owned for three months have wore under nitrile work gloves enduring high vibration, machine oporating, fence installing etc. While hiking and at any given moment the readings are very accurate (compared to my Garmin GPS and traditional compasses). I had to recalibrate the compass once because I didn't believe the data while hiking, it then was dead on with other instruments available at the time (smart phone). The calibration method was easily remembered.

5-16-2017 update
After the infamous resetting issue this watch seems to have as per other customers, I sent it off the the ONLY Casio authorized repair facility in the United States, The Time Machine in Montrose California. It arrived at their facility via shipment tracking on 4-20-2017. I called the repair facility yesterday to inquire, "a new module is still on order" I was told. I called Casio today 5-16 to ask if I should expect such a delay and if so I like a new watch without the resetting issue. I was put on hold why the rep called The Time Machine. After a brief moment the Casio rep told me the module was coming from Tokyo Japan so it's going to "take some time." About an hour later I received a voicemail from Casio and The Time Machine saying my watch should be repaired and shipped back later this week (today is Tuesday).

Then I decided to check reviews regarding The Time Machine provided in the link below. It seems MANY customers of Casio are displeased for various reasons... I sure hope my watch arrives and is repaired with quality workmanship. With that said I recommend weighing your options when purchasing a watch with the ABC features and steer away from this model since it is known to have issues.

10/29/2018 Update...
I've beat the crap out of this watch and it still plugs along without issue. A screen protector and trying to make sure my gloves protect it best as possible while conducting a wide variety of tasks for extended periods of time. I've fought wildland fire with this watch on, ran chainsaw extensively, demolitioned, subjected to hand tool use extensively, bumps and bangs etc etc. I'd definitely buy another and do recommend.
