I love this and my other Protrek, highly recommended
on June 2, 2016
I love this watch. It does so much! I will wear other watches and find myself missing the information this tells me. I track the weather, I sail on lakes and sounds and bays and rivers; this watch helps me predict what kind of day on the water it will be. The barometer and temperature trends along with atmostpheric observations make my predictions pretty realistic. I track the tides and moon phase and know what time and day I can go get peeling crabs. I use the compass on my boat. I use the altimeter when I travel. I always wear it so im relieved by its durability and water resistance. I use all 4 alarms routinely. I love that it sets itself and the backlight illuminates automatically when I present it to myself.
With all my praise there's still some complaint. The backlight isnt usable while navigating and setting the watch.
The barometer can be set but it seems to forget and recalibrate itself.
The thermometer follows suit. Not incredibly accurate.
Albeit the trend feature is most important during weather observations. Falling mercury, cooling temps and cloud observation tells you you outta hunker down or head back to the hard.
Follow up, 1 year later:
The battery quit charging to its fullest. Now the only thing on the display is a tiny barely visible "c" above the low battery marker.
Casio claims that the battery should last 7 years without light so Ill guess that this watch must have been at least that old when I bought it... now what do I do????
