Introducing the new G-Aviation with blaze orange band and black IP bezel for high visibility. Blaze orange or safety orange, is frequently used in Avionics for its high visibility and contrast with blue skies; a characteristic that really sets this watch apart form its surroundings. The large 32mm wide face is designed to provide the look of an aircraft instrument panel and is constructed of two layers creating a dramatic 3-D effect. Large side buttons provide easy operation, and the same time, are enclosed by guards that protect against accidental operation and damage. For added durability, the band is fastened on both sides with stainless steel screws.

I wouldn't give a 5 star, nor a 4 star... I'll give it a 4.5 star rating. Why? Mainly because it's hard to determine the time elapsed with the stopwatch. It uses the right hand dial to count the seconds and minutes... but it's a 24 minutes dial?!?! Yeap... try to figure out the elapsed time when it goes beyond 30min... if you master it, you're almost a genius, otherwise... you'll struggle.
Like most other people I found it difficult to learn to operate and set so I still keep my manual plus I downloaded a manual PDF for backup. It is a limited edition watch esp. in the US. You'll find it on the gshock site but they make you have to purchase through dealers. That's the tricky part as most places who "carry" it online will tell you once you try to buy, that the item is out of stock and they can't say when or whether it will be back. This is the reason why whenever a batch is released there is a massive mark up of the price. As a matter of fact. I fell in love with this watch on the gshock site but could not find it available online anywhere like several other people. On a chance I asked an outfit in the UK (Hienie Haynes) if they could source it and then took my mind off ever finding it as I was not prepared to pay USD$700-up. Nine ( yes 9) months later they called me say they had a couple and had saved one for me if I was still interested( priced at £230 plus shipping). Hell yeah!!I live I Jamaica so radio time keeping isn't available at our higher frequencies. However I set all my watches five minutes fast and this one keeps falling back to the right time( go figure).
All in all it's a great watch, it's eye candy for sure and will attract anything from "WOW!!" to "WTF!!". If you really want it and can find it at a 'reasonable price' buy it. Good luck with the MSRP though!
The reason I am giving it only 4 stars is the illlumination.
The Neo-brite, after a while it is impossible to see. During this months of July and August, although an entire day under the sun exposion, at night and after a while the illumination completely disappear...
Because of my work (as a technician on a tv station) where I have to be in the studios behind sets without any lights and always looking at my watch to check time by the second this watch is not the best option. I just went back to my Protrek 130-y with backlight illumination when I go to work.
But if you don't need that function to often, go for it - It's a really nice piece!
