I thought it was a pretty good deal. I did a subscription which saved me money on my first purchase, but the price went up and so now it’s more expensive the second time around. So that was unfortunate. But otherwise it works just fine and I like that it gets me a lot out of my car. I use it for my Honda CR-V. Not sure how to check how well it works or the “sheerness” of it but it’s been 4 months and the oil is still pretty clean (to its extent)

Perfect oil for my 2010 Jaguar XKR

Jaguar recommends Castrol brand oils and the only difference between this 0W-20 oil and the Castrol oil they use at the dealership is that the dealership oil has an additive that glows with a blacklight so that they can see if anyone else has changed the oil. The price is great and the oil lasts 15K miles between service intervals.

I have been using Castrol GTX 0W-20 in my Toyota Corolla and a family member's Dodge Dart for the past several years.

I change oil regularly myself around 7,500 miles and keep logs on each service I perform to vehicles which are under my care, especially noting the observations when changing from one product brand to another. I am kind of OCD like that. LOL I can honestly say that when I switched to Castrol it had a lot to do with the price point. I have come to find over the past several years of use that this product (Castrol GTX 0W-20) performs great in the New England area of the USA year round. It works especially well under extreme cold temperatures ( 0 F- 25 F), one of the times when you depend on it most to perform.

Castrol GTX 0W-20 not only works well all season long but after 7,500 miles, when it comes time to change the oil, Castrol comes out of the pan still having a slightly golden transparency on the edges of the draining flow with good viscosity. I was impressed by this as I have only seen this in some other purple brand of oil that I use in my summer car. This tells me that the oil still has plenty of life and protection to it when safely changing at 7,500 mile intervals. IMO, I know I could go longer intervals than that, but I don't like to push it.

Overall, I am quite pleased with Castrol's performance and will continue using it in vehicles that I service. I also use their 5W-20 in my wife's Jeep.

I've been a Castrol fan since the 80's when I had a car with a turbo that quickly destroyed motor oil. I tried Castrol in that turbo and it didn't come out of the engine like stinky, charred water at 3K miles. Instead it looked just like the oil change in my non-turbo car... a little dirty, but still like oil with no burnt odor.

I now use Castrol Edge for the 7.5K to 10K yearly oil changes and at six months I will siphon off 1.25 qts of oil from the engines and replace it with Magnatec. That way I am sure to have a boost of fresh cleaning additives of Castrol oil in my engines until the next oil change. I'm sure a lot of people will say that Castrol synthetic oils will last for the full 7.5K-10K oil change interval without having to add any fresh oil, but I used to have vehicles that would burn about a quart between oil changes and I would always top them up with fresh oil. It didn't bother me that I needed to add fresh oil, in fact I felt that a dose of fresh oil is very beneficial to my engines.

With the cars I have now, they do not seem burn more than a few ounces of oil in 10K miles. They run 20 weight oil which makes me even more nutty about protecting the engines. So now I have to siphon and top-off to get a fresh dose in the oil sump at six months. Castrol's full synthetic Magnatec is perfect for my "top-off" and peace of mind.
