To tell a bit about the book (assuming that you've read the previous books in the series), this book chronicles the time when the mansion is being rebuilt into a theater. Jim and the cats are still living in the old carriage house. The new newspaper is issuing it's first edition, and gets it's name. Some people are murdered and the police are pretty sure they know who did it. But Koko knows better.
Not the best book in the series, but not the worst either (did I mention not to read the last book in the series). To me, these books are the literarily equivalent of a "Murder She Wrote" episode. Personally, with the number of people that tend to get murdered in the vicinity of Jim and his psychic cat - I would be scared for my life to live anywhere near him. But the stories are entertaining and the characters are usually interesting. I would recommend reading the books in order.
