"Glyn-ese Rosedew and the Inn" is a great read that could easily be expanded to fill an entire novel, while some of the shorter pieces like "Bent Tines" make the most out of the shock factor in their brevity. If you are looking for something to make you think, read "Adverbosity" but readers beware of this one if you don't like Adverbs.
Reading the bulk of the book in one evening after a stressful day at the office, I could not put it down for the soothing effect it gave my frazzled nerves. It is by far the best literary antidote I've found to stress. I found myself laughing, nearly crying, shaking my head in bewilderment, and pausing over the clever turns of phrase that consistently appear in a wide variety of stories with completely different styles and themes.
Having never been a large reader of short stories, this book has opened my eyes to the skill required to write and the joy received in reading such a wonderful collection. Some of the stories are purely fun, while others will make you think. A few of the stories seemed like filler, which was disappointing. Still, since I loved most of them I read all of them, even the less entertaining. The content was well arranged and well edited, a fine example of an eBook publication.
I happily recommend "Catch Her in the Rye" for anyone, anywhere who could use a moment's entertainment, and a good story or two.
