Carly's grandma is just as hilarious as Brooke's grandpa James and in this book it looks like they might become a couple.. funny!!!
Down side these couples get together in this insanity tale but then the end, where's the together time, where's the HEA together? At least you get some of Brooke and Cain in the second book but still, if you invest in these characters you want a little more of them with the HEA! If not, then at least give us an epilogue to make us feel like we get a glimpse into their together time.
Sadly neither book offer that and that just stinks! Still these books are worth the read if your in the mood for some fun reading that will make you smile if not lol.
This book can be read as a standalone but Being Brooke is pretty amazing too. That is how I fell in love with Ezekiel Elliott. I got a glimpse of him in book 1 and I was all out obsessed with the man. It wasn’t just the name, but it was his charm and his arrogance that drew me to him. I don’t know what it was about him but I was completely enthralled by Zeke. He had my heart from the very beginning. It is just his character and his charm and his nicknames to Carly that got me. I’m 100 percent attracted to Ezekiel Elliott and I want to steal him from Carly. #noshame
Carly is not as awkward as Brooke but she has her moments. She is sassy and knows how to throw down with Zeke. Dare I say I love her more than Brooke?! Gasp. I know. Brooke is amazing but there was just something about Carly that drew me in. She was so relatable and normal! It was so much fun to read. Her internal struggle with herself was amazing.
Catching Carly is one of the most normal books Emma Hart has written but even then it has it’s spunk. I mean how can we forget that Grandma and Grandpa. They were a hoot! Emma Hart will swoon you with her brilliance and Ezekiel Elliott will deliver the final blow to your heart. Catching Carly is not a book to be missed! Read it and fall in love with it as much as I have.
Carly is one snarky girl who has some of the BEST lines I’ve read EVER….
“No, for real. I’m not exaggerating. I’m a woman. I know the real length of an inch, thank you very much.”
The audience for all her zingers is none other than Ezekial “Zeke” Elliott, the brother of her bestie, Brooke’s boyfriend. These two have known each other for quite some time and have always gotten on each other’s nerves always trying to one-up the other. Things changed, and in my opinion for the better, the night Carly and Zeke sleep together!
All bets are off now and watching these two dance around each other for the next several chapters literally had me rolling and snort laughing. How Ms. Hart comes up with some of these quips, from both of them, astounds me…all in a good way!
I found it difficult to put this book down especially when there’s all this sexual tension brewing between them…given Zeke’s very pleasing anatomy and how Carly is finally admitting to herself there could be more to explore with Zeke….
“With his dark hair, oceanic blue-green eyes, smoldering smile, and a yes-let-me-lick-whipped-cream-off-you kind of body, he’s irresistibly attractive. His laugh is a little to infectious, his smirk horribly sexy, and the sound of his voice is addictive in all the best ways.”
While she’s trying to not concentrate on Zeke, Carly is still in the dating world and talk about some bad dates!! She’s climbed out windows, gets the guys that are not who they say they are and possibly live with their mothers!!! I can totally relate to those situations being a single girl myself!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how Zeke didn’t let Carly get away with anything and ALWAYS had a retort back to her. But what I really loved about Zeke is in his own way he cared for Carly and didn’t want to let anyone hurt her…including himself.
When these two finally admitted to themselves what their feeling were for the other, I wanted to shout "YES!" However, I didn't because I was too busy laughing. Whether it was from each chapter heading, the situations Carly gets herself into or Zeke doing everything he can to get on her nerves.
I loved the pace of this book, the character development of this book, how Ms. Hart never rushes our H/h into their HEA and makes them work for it and doesn't placate us or them by just "neatly wrapping it all up in a big red bow."
This book is utter perfection and just like when you have some of the best sex of your life and you want to shout it to the world, I'm shouting to the book world, BUY THIS BOOK, FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS AND HAVE A GREAT RIDE!!!!
