They end up with a pair of dark fae children, and have taken them on as their own, a boy and a girl. But as we all know, nothing in life can ever be easy, can it? There is still a meeting to discuss the final disposition of the children, so they end up with a Duva Matra, a godmother, to stay with them for two weeks, to watch over them and to help make the decision on whether the triad get to keep the children. Of course, things never do go smoothly do they?
The fantastic writing trio of Maia Dylan, Sarah Marsh, and Elena Kincaid have blended this into a seamless, wonderful story of parents who want to keep their children and worry about whether or not if they can truly care for them. Alone, these ladies are all incredible in their own right, but together? Simply a powerhouse!
The two babies, Finn and Ellie were orphaned and our trio were tasked to take care of the twins for a trial period.
Having one baby is a trip, but double it and add some dark magic to the mix and I think their lives are going to be very interesting! Of course it's not all smooth sailing and when they are brought back to the high court to face the decision whether or not hey will be suitable parents they make a couple of enemies. I look forward to seeing if they cause our trio problems in future books.
As a mother of two wonderful kids, I can relate first-hand to the grossness of an explosive diaper and the joy of feeding a youngster table food. Each instance sometimes requires a HAZMAT suit. However, despite the messiness, those times (smelly or not) are memories I never want or will forget.
In Catching Faete, Maia, Sarah, and Elena wrote the truth regarding taking care of children. Whether you have one or multiple tykes in your home, parenting is an every day learning experience. You never know what the day will bring, as Leo and Ben quickly found out for themselves. They not only had to deal with suddenly becoming fathers to twin six-month-olds but they also had to realize their babies and magic go hand in hand. Now, my kids might've attempted to pull a Houdini once and a while but they never actually really went poof. Thank goodness for that!
Ladies, I applaud you for portraying key elements of raising children so accurately: the messy times, the fears, and more importantly the love and true delight kids bring into our lives. You three also showed how finding alone time can be tricky with youngsters solely dependent on you but parents must and will find the time somehow because intimacy is still needed. And, oh my, how utterly delicious were their private moments!! Hello, wrist cuffs! ;-)
Erica knew she faced consequences for the way she ended the reign of the false King. She never expected it to cost her her future. But when she is given the opportunity to raise twin orphans as her own will prejudice steal her dreams?
Catching Faete by Sarah Marsh, Maia Dylan and Elena Kincaid is a quick read. It definitely should be read in chronological order as it revisits Erica and her men. I enjoyed seeing Erica and her men after their happily ever after. I loved that Ms. Marsh, Ms. Dylan and Ms. Kincaid showed the chemistry and devotion between Erica, Ben and Leo still survives even with the loss of biological children. But can they still be parents? This addition shows that love can grow and accept. I enjoyed seeing another side of these characters. I also loved that the authors allowed us to have the peek into their new reality.
