Of course the relationship had the potential to go nowhere due to the fact that Liam's going to go home once he's done with college. There was also clearly something going on with Jillian and I was dying to find out what it was, although the clues indicated it wasn't going to be good.
I absolutely hated Jillian's mother. That woman would stress anyone out.
Overall though, I enjoyed the story, despite it ending without a clear answer as to whether their relationship would continue once Liam returned to Scotland.
I'm going to start of saying I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! This was such a great story about someone over coming something they think will take over their lives. Jillian finds out at an early age that her life will never be what she wanted/expected for it to be. She tries to hide from people and never gets close to anyone until Liam. This was such a wonderful love story showing that there are still people out there who are willing to fight for someone they love, no matter what is expected for the future. To often now a days you see couples split because one of them doesn't want to deal with any of the hardship. While reading this book, I did have tears in my eyes at some points, Jills really didn't have it easy (especially with her mother) but I was so glad that Liam tried so hard to get her to trust him. It also helps that Liam is supposed to be this absolutely gorgeous Scot! I will be telling my friends they need to read this book, and this is going on my "to be read again" pile as well!
Liam can't help but pursue Jillian no matter how indifferent she acts to his charms. Liam feels Intrigued when it comes to our closed-off gal, Luckily a coincidental college class together pairs up the two as partners in order to pass the class. Liam goes to many lengths to get to know her in every way imaginable and let's just say when Jillian relents these two together are Hot, Bright, Smoking Fireworks!!! Before you know it Liam & Jillian come to care deeply for each other but is anything ever Simple?!?! Nah of course not and alas there are two Heavy Wrenches thrown into the fold... One is Liam is on a student visa and must return home to Scotland in June and the other is???
Jillian is hiding something Big and she doesn't Trust Liam to not leave or look at her in a different light. This story is FUN, Cute, Funny, and Steamy but there are some Sad & Touching parts as well.
What do you think is Jill's Secret? What does the Future hold for these two Insatiable & Stubborn people? I tell you what Buy a Copy like Right Now... Besides Everyone Needs a Sexy Scot in our Lives. :)
You Won't Regret it!!!!!!!!!!!
Best thing about this book? Liam, Liam, Liam. I need to meet Liam. He is the perfect romance novel gentleman -- sigh. Other good things: Jillian, I like that her problem was sort of a little more major than your run of the mill romance novel damsel. She was complicated, but very human. Her best friend, Jess, was also part of the novel's appeal. She was a genuine, real person, who played an important role in Jillian's evolution.
Great, fun, read with lots of lusty parts like you expect in these type of book. ;)
Convincing herself that she's not interested in a relationship, Jillian freaks out a bit when she wakes up one morning to find the hot guy she brought home the night before, making waffles in her kitchen. Realizing that he doesn't know that he's supposed to quietly slip out before she wakes up, she helps him along his way. Unable to accept her help, Liam, the hot guy, continues to pursue her, trying to convince her that they'd make the perfect couple.
As we read, we figure out that there's more to Jillian's resolve than not wanting to commit. With an over-bearing, almost unloving, mother; a naturally, motherly roommate; and a secret illness, that Jillian not only hides from others but from herself, as well, we can totally understand why Jillian wants to keep her life as simple as possible. Since she didn't figure on Liam, who, by the way, isn't only totally hot and can cook but, is also really sweet and has a Scottish accent, Jillian finds herself sinking fast.
Sometimes silly, sometimes sad; always smart, and very romantic, 'Catching Liam' by Sophia Bleu, is a novel that takes over the reader's thoughts until, with surprise, they realize it's 3:00 AM and they read the entire thing. Yeah, it's that kind of book.
