Pros: My feet are no longer sore after 10-12 hour days
Easy to clean
The best heel support I have ever had! (incredible when carrying half my weight on my shoulder and climbing stairs)
Cons: Not good with long term use of shovels because the tread comes off easily
No longer waterproof after two months
These boots were made for the men and women who sit in the machines and not so much for the workers on the ground
Measure your feet properly from longest points (tip of big toe to back of heel) and take away half an inch (IF BUYING WIDE BOOT)
I work irrigation and landscaping and these boots work just fine for now.
P.S. Screw Timbs
During my internship, I worked around 8-12 hours a day walking around on uneven fields and concrete floors of a warehouse, so it was important that my boots were comfortable to wear. I did not experience any blisters, which can occur with other work boots. Dewy mornings in the field often made for a wet and muddy start to my day, but through all of the mess, my feet stayed relatively dry. This was important to me because I was always on my feet, and I did not want to have sore and wrinkly feet.
Durability is another important feature that I look at when I go to buy a pair of work boots. I have had this pair of boots for close to three years now, and there are no defects on them so far. The steel toe and steel shanks on the ankle portion of the boot provide necessary protection from various heavy or sharp objects. It should comfort you to know that I have had 350lb pigs step on my toes with the boots on, and I didn’t feel a thing.
Not all work boots are considered to be lightweight, but these boots are very lightweight. After walking several miles through corn fields, I would go home and work around the farm for a couple more hours. I hardly even noticed I was wearing boots because they feel like athletic shoes at times. Heavy boots make working more of a challenge, so I am very happy with how light these boots are.
I am not going to say that these Caterpillar boots are perfect. They do not always keep your feet dry even with the water-resistant leather. If it was a rainy day, my socks would get a little more wet than normal. However, working in the rain was not that common of a practice for me, so I do not see this issue as a deal-breaker.
As you can see, the Caterpillar Diagnostic Waterproof boots are great for people working in fields or warehouses. They are comfortable, durable, and lightweight. The Caterpillar Diagnostic Waterproof boots will be a quality investment for your feet.
