About the Author

A. M. Knott is the pen name for two writers who are also best friends. One lives in Michigan with her own cat, Cassee. The other lives in Florida and (gasp) secretly prefers dogs. A. M. Knott's first book, Catnapped, could not have been written without the wonders of email, chocolate and trampolines.

I teach kids, so I'm always looking for new and fun books. Being a cat lover intrigued me to this idea of a cat becoming a boy. I thought this book was very unique. It made me root for the main character and wonder how things would play out. It's a very lively story and I can't wait to share it with the kids in my life. I look forward to reading more books by these clever authors.

I downloaded this book for my eight year old son since he loves books where the "hero" is an animal. He LOVED this book. He has re-read it at least a dozen times and he laughs out loud with the re-reads (especially the scene with the salmon mousse fiasco). I had to read it since he laughed so much. I can see why he loved it so much - it has multiple funny parts which helps to keep his interest. Basically, the book chronicles the horrors the cat endures when he is changed into a little boy with clumsy arms and legs. He has a couple of transformations in this book, but, will he be turned back into a beautiful cat, or will he wind up stuck in a horrible human's body the rest of his life?
This book has a lot of suspense, but it kept my son laughing so he did not get "scared" from this book (he does not like scary movies or books).
This book is probably geared towards the 9-12 crowd, but if you have a younger advanced reader, he/she will love this book.

I downloaded the free ebook this afternoon. My 11 year old daughter finished it within a few hours! She absolutely loved it and wants her friends to read it. She'd also like a sequel. :) The other 2 kids are clamoring for the Kindle now.

I have to admit that I chose this book because it was free, but I will have to say that it's certainly worth buying. It's for my neighbor's child who is 11 and she loves cats. I always read anything before I give it away, to make sure it's appropriate. This book starts off a little slow, but it picks up rather quickly and doesn't talk down to children. Like many of the Disney movies, it can be enjoyed on two levels - as an adult or as a child. It's a cute tale (or tail), with a lot of subtle messages about friendship and behavior. The ending was a bit abrupt for me, but I guess it leaves room for a sequel. It's a pleasant read and I think it's a good book for either boys or girls. It's also the kind of book you could read out loud to children and both of you would enjoy it. Good job for a first time author. Hope we see more.

I loved the clever idea and clearly these are talented authors. I too look forward to a sequel. I'll bet that you could make a great story out of a really great true story. Contact Jenni on FaceBook and get the story about the pregnant cross-eyed cat with whom the the tenants of Jenni's apartment complex became friends. One day the cat went to James and she kept rubbing against his leg. She kept leading him in 15 ft. segments to follow her. He followed her for quite a while though different pathways, etc. They finally came to a cramped cut-out area where Mamma proudly showed him her offspring. Jenni and James tried to get her to move to another location at the apt. complex but Mamma would not hear of it. The picture of Mamma and her litter are on FB. It is a really great story.

As a dog person, it almost pains me to say this: Catnapped is a fabulous book. Finally, we have a kids book that is a fun, suspenseful (but not in a nightmare-inducing way), and educational read. When Traxter has to "be human" in order to become a cat again, he overcomes his fears, learns to trust his instincts, discovers the joys of new friendships and proves that love and loyalty are really all that matters.

This book is good for kids of all ages. My 8-year old was able to read it on his own. Younger children would enjoy listening it being read to them. Older children will find the writing to be just as fun as the storyline.

My 3rd graders cheered and clapped today when we completed reading Catnapped on my Kindle. The great adventure of Traxter and his friends is a perfect book for a 9 year old. Although there are some challenging words in the text, it lends itself perfectly as a vocabulary lesson. I am writing curriculum to go with Catnapped. If you are a teacher or home-school parent, please check AM Knott's website for further information and upcoming activities that will be added soon.

Allison says: "I loved the ending!"
Lydia says: "Cattnapped was a great mystery to read."
