Introducting: the new lilypad splash and crumb catcher mat. The mat measures 12-inch by 14-inch by 1-inch high. It has a special lip to prevent moisture or crumbs from getting on the floor, durable and easy to clean. The mat comes in a lime green or taupe and it is made of eva and contains no latex, no pba. The lily pad is made out of a lightweight, plastic material. It feels like a mixture between foam and silicone. To me, the material does feel a bit cheap, which is one of the reasons I’m not rating it a full five stars. However, the material is water-resistant, and the overall design of the lilypad is very cute.
The following issue is really not a big deal, but I feel that it nonetheless should be addressed in this review: the lilypad came with a small blemish/stain that detracts from the overall design. Luckily, my cat’s water fountain covers it, so it is not visible unless I’m cleaning the fountain or the pad.
In all, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an adorable pad to contain any water splashing around in their pet’s water bowl!
One for under the food bowl: this works great. Catches the little crumbs, or wayward bits of food. There's little nail marks in it after a few months, but they cats don't bother with it. (no chewing)
One for under the water bowl: in this instance it is sort of useless. I bought it to put under the water bowl because my cats are a$$hats. They go tearing around the place like greyhounds after a bunny rabbit. The not so brighter of the 2, she tends to end up running through the water bowl and knocking it over. The lily pad was supposed to contain the spill and not end up with water all over mywood floors. Not the case. The lily pad goes flying right with the water bowl. So, I upgraded the water bowl mess pad to one of the rubber-y ones that sort of adheres to the floor when you lay it down, and has a serious lip to it.
