Catt works for a cosmetics company, where she mixes a little of this with a little of that, to come up with the proper smells that women and men would die for. For her, life revolves around her father's church and her job. However, due to the stress of the economy, the company she works for is feeling some of the economic strain and needs to do something quick. Catt's boss decides to hire quick-witted, handsome and smart Jamal Ford to save them from ruins. Immediately, Catt and Jamal get off on the wrong foot for one of them and the playful foot for the other.
For Jamal, life was for having fun along with doing his job. He was not the kind of man that kept his mind stuck on business all the time. When Catt and he are forced together on a road trip to promote a new product line, they both may get more than what they bargained for. Will Catt be able to stifle what she really feels about Jamal? Will Jamal push every button on her body, mind and soul to get her to lighten up at work?
Catt Chasin' is by far the best book Shana Burton has written thus far. I enjoyed it from the first page to the last; which I was not thrilled to see. I wanted more. The plot was not what I expected and neither was the ending. I had it all wrong. I read this book in less than 24 hours. I highly recommend Catt Chasin' to readers of Christian Fiction; to those who bury themselves in their work and to anyone looking for a different kind of inspirational story.

Overall, CATT CHASIN' by Shana Burton is satisfactory. This story mirrors so many others - a handsome, ladies' man and a cute, chubby woman with a one- sided crush. Eventually, they bond as friends that lead to sharing secrets, with the possibility of a love connection.
I liked the fact that God was introduced as a source of help in the story, and that Catt was able to lead Jamal to his salvation. Afterward, as the two became closer, I failed to see where God's presence remained. Sadly, I was also not pleased as the story became predictable. There were some editing issues with tense and missing words. I really wish that Burton would've taken a different approach instead of the obvious.

Catt and Jamal are paired to take a three week business trip together to promote their new product and things seem to take a turn at this point. Catt and Jamal develop a friendship that provides occasion to talk and share on many levels which opens the eyes of the characters. Throughout the story God's presence is a pillar of strength and hope and with his help Catt is able to lead Jamal to accepting Christ as his personal savior; however I noticed that as Catt and Jamal's relationship strengthened the "presence" of God was less visible. The plot was predictable as well as the ending. It took me a little longer to read this book than usual reads. I would recommend Catt Chasin to readers who enjoy Christian Fiction or someone seeking a general inspirational story.
