I felt the story was a little slow moving through the first half, but then it steadily got a little better and a little better until we finally had our nice HEA ending. Everything wraps up with no annoying loose ends in an epilogue.
I must also commend the author for setting her story in Australia, since that's where she's from. I find it very annoying when someone sets a book in the US and then ends up using terminology from their home country and they also don't have a clear understanding of how things work in the US, thus causing certain scenes in their book to be very distracting because they just don't make sense. Thank you for a small look at life in Aussie!
This was such an excellent book. Once I got started I became so intrigued, that I just couldn't put it down. It had humor, angst, and a slow smoldering romance. In other words, everything you could ask for in a good romance story.
I love stories that involve really strong female characters, and this one had it in spades. I loved the character of Joley, she spoke her mind and was really feisty and called it like it was. I also loved the interaction between Nate and Joley, their strong attraction towards one another was very believable.. The fact that Nate was brought to tears a few times while talking about his mother and ex-wife, made me love him even more.
The one thing that did bother me a bit though, was in the beginning Joley talked a mile a minute about her father. But....towards the end he was hardly mentioned. I thought that was just a bit weird, but then again.... maybe it was just me.
This is an excellent book that I would recommend to everyone!
When Nate and Joley get together he is looking for someone to be a wife and mother, and she sees her friends all getting married but never thought of being married herself. She agrees to stay with Nate in return she would get her business back in order. What begins as blackmail becomes a pretty hot romance.
