And the other characters were fleshed out nicely and it continued that they had interesting interactions with each other. I can't complain about the romance in this book at all.
Bleu's secretive stuff going on got a little old at some point. Clearly she hadn't matured much. She just be thanking her lucky stars that she had a healthy baby. I was kind of disappointed that what ever really happened to Angel didn't get discussed more. I felt that was kind of a gaping hole in the story and for all the story that was told that would have been nice to know versus all the romance novel stuff which was basically name dropping and advertising for those authors.
The editing kind of fell apart at the end of this book but seemed tight in the beginning. A swipe with a basic spell checker would have caught most of the glaring errors I noticed.
Aaron is about 20 years older than Chloe and has a colourful past.
They work together in his son Axel's shop, Chloe and Aarons daughter are best friends. There are so many reasons this shouldn't work, but it does.
This is a story about acceptance, understanding, trust and love.
Aaron doesn't think he deserves tod have someone love him. He feels his track record isn't great and he thinks it is better for everyone if he just doesn't get involved. Then in walks Chloe. Aaron never saw her coming. She turned his world upside down.
As their relationship progresses Aaron realizes that no matter how many excuses he makes he can't fight his feelings. He loves her. And more importantly, she loves him, warts and all.
Chloe gives Aaron absolute unconditional love. She is so in love with him. Chloe comes from an unusual family and is very accepting and non judgemental. She loves with all she has.
When Aaron and Chloe come together sparks fly and it's not long before things heat up and they find they can't keep away from each other.
This a beautiful 2nd chance story, well worth the read. You will laugh and possibly cry while you read this one!
You don't have to read book 1 of the series first but I would recommend you to so you know who all the characters are and how they relate to Aaron and Chloe.
I'm interested in seeing who's story is next! I'm hoping it will be Matt's turn!
Grab yourself a copy and get comfortable, you will enjoy this story!
Now can you say dysfunctional? That's the best way to describe this cast of characters. They are all completely effed up, but they are so real as well. However, there is an abundance of love for one another. There were several moments throughout the book that I was also literally laughing out loud.
I cannot wait to see what the author M.A. Stone has in store for us as the series continues. I would give Caught Up 4.5 stars.
*I received Caught Up as an ARC for an honest review.
Now let's talk about Aron and Chloe. yeah if you read There goes The Neighborhood the prequel to Riveted and the the Story of Aron and Angel. Then you know that Aron had and lost the one true love of his love. The mother of 3 of his children, the one he still dreams about. Oh and yeah you would have learned about all of his mistakes and loves lost including Kaci the mother of his first born and her sister Kellan. Now if you haven't read that book no worries you will get glimpses of it in this book but to get a complete picture I HIGHLY recommend that you read this book.
Okay back to Caught Up. How do I feel about this amazing story that includes not only his love interest but his life his kids his sister...His family? I loved every minute of every page and every word written in this book. Simply put it isn't perfect it is real it isn't a fairy tale it is gritty and tortured pasts. It isn't unicorns and rainbows it is love and demons and happiness despite it all. It is romantic and funny and get in your face angry. But I know that every person that picks up this book will be so incredibly happy they read I know. I am! Sexy Aron and his angelic Chloe are perfect for each other. She is the light in his darkness and he is the excitement she has been looking for. Not entirely perfect but completely made for each other. **Swoon**
This book captured me from the first paragraph, granted I had just finished reading the prequel and was dying to know more about Aron. But none the less I was hooked.
All I want to know now is will we get to see what Happens to Axle and Matt? I can't wait!!!
