"Perfect."
"You didn't even take a look." I looked up at him through my lashes.
He smiled, "I meant you."

Ohhhhh where to begin? Marcus and Mia's story picks up exactly where Disastrous left off. We continue on with the story of their lives together, the obstacles they face, and shocking revelations about the past.

In delving into Cautious, you are immediately gripped from the beginning. The Prologue sets the mood with such an intense scene, you can't help but picture it over and over again and wonder when we find out what happens. Throughout the story I found myself laughing, yelling, crying, shouting and having my heart broken...

We get to reconnect with old characters, like Jeremy, who never disappoints in his sarcasm and quick wit; along with Jimmie (SWOON), all of his serious stature and all out hotness. I found I fell more in love with Jimmie and his daughter, Elle, in this second installment. We also have the pleasure of being introduced to new characters as well...Some of which I fell completely in love with as their part in the story unfolded.

It was a wonderful and sickening desire that jabbed at my heart: wonderful because I could never have enough of him. Sickening, because if I were to ever lose him, there was no way I could recover from the pain.

As the story continues, we get to find out Marcus' inner demons. We see more of the side that has him split in two. The side that wants to be everything he can be for her within his power; and the side that tears him away from her, the side in which scares him from being able to be all he knows she deserves.

"I'm trying to find a way to have her forgive me for all I've done, because in the end she was always too good for me, in the end I never deserved her.

I'm not going to lie, this book was bad. I didn't give it 1 star because I still managed to finish it. I feel like this book was the simplified version of the real book, because situations happened but readers just barely got a taste of the emotions and dialogue, and then all of a sudden it's the next chapter.

The planning for the "bust" sounded like a joke. I understand that this is not a book in the "crime & suspense" category, but still, couldn't it have been more realistic? Supposedly the biggest drug bust in recent history, and the FBI had a budget cut so manpower was down to 3 guys? There were numerous other things that bugged me about this sequel, but I'm frustrated with this book and I just don't want to write more.

The only good thing about this book is its cover.

L. O. V. E. D!!!!!!!!!! This was one if the best sequels and I have to say I loved the way it ended!! It was perfect is was real (or at least it could be). The authors books always create a mini movie when I read her work and I can see it happening. She is a great author and I absolutely loved this book and look forward to more of her independent works!!

If you've read the first book then you shouldn't need any encouragement to buy the second. It's kind of a given you should. I know some people get upset with the author because they either leave a cliff hanger and you "have" to buy the second book to get the whole story. I have been in that position too many times, and it sometimes isn't worth it. However I will say that this second book was needed. There would be just too much for one book, and I though it was necessary for two books. In this book you'll get all the answers you needed and then some. I think you'll get closure, wether its good or bad.

What can I say I loved the first book Disastrous and this book was just as good. This book I had to wait until I was finished with finals to start reading it. As soon as my last final was submitted I started this book and had it done in a few hours. I loved every min of it. E.L. Montes is truly a gifted author and I can't wait to read more from her. Again what a great book GO and read it and if you did not read the first one read it then dig into this one.

Cautious picks up where Disastrous finishes but it's the Prologue that sucks you right in. Because of the Prologue you don't want to put the book down.
Some secrets are revealed. Marcus and Mia are deeply in love with one another, but it is a struggle because of Marcus' "other Job". They are fighting so hard to stay together.
In this book Mia is trying to have a relationship with her mom and cousin. She is in love with Marcus' family, his mom Theresa, brother Jimmie and niece Elle.
Marcus is doing everything possible to get out of the mob, but does only truly ever leave the mob. Marcus will do anything he can to and to have a normal life with Mia, but at what cost.
I loved this series. I loved the ending and I loved the secondary characters as much as the primary characters. I would love if Jeremy or Jimmie got their own book.
Marcus is a great book boyfriend and Mia is a great heroine!!

My ‘Blogging Readers Review’ after reading ‘Cautious’- Book #2 (via: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.c o m):

Now onto my review for the sequel to ‘Disastrous’ titled ‘Cautious’ by E.L. Montes. It did not lose any of the gripping story dialogue that the first book offered. ‘Cautious’ definitely brought the action, suspense and continues the heart-clenching love story between Mia and Marcus. In this book you get 2 P.O.V’s (Point of views), meaning you get to see not only Mia’s perspective but also Marcus’ this time around, making the story completely fulfilling.

The story picks up with Mia and Marcus as a couple who have no question about the strong love and connection they share. Unfortunately they are still trying to work through certain problems and issues that still seem to affect their relationship because of the danger that lurks because of of the life Marcus still leads in secret. Mia and Marcus have begun to open up to each other, though not completely. Since this move into the right direction in their relationship, she has chosen to stick by Marcus but certain secrets still linger.

Marcus becomes set on trying to find a way to get out of the 2nd life he lives because he wants to protect those he loves, including the woman he loves so much. I must add, there is one hot and steamy scene involving a movie theater during a ‘chick-flick’ and that is all I’m going to say about that. :) When the thin line that separates Marcus’ personal life from his dark life, begins to disappear he knows it is beyond time to find a way out. Certain secrets from the past emerge that change the way his brother Jimmie as well as Marcus himself, see things from their past.
