I was a bit leery to purchase due to all the negative reviews. I’ve never seen a product with such biased reviews on both ends of the spectrum! They’re all over the place. I just received my black Caviart today, and I absolutely LOVE it! A full breakdown:
*First impresssion, the size of the container is generous, when comparing to my usual grocery store shelf (real) caviar. I like the premium quality looking packaging of this as well, it’s very appealing.
*Opening the container, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the product is NOT liquidy as some reviewers mentioned. Just like real caviar, it’s a solid product. Visual appeal, this looks like the real thing.
*Aroma: there is no chemical smell as another reviewer insinuated. It doesn’t smell awkward or bad.
*Solidarity: scooped just as I would real caviar, and it holds it shape very nicely. Perfect little “eggs” that are uniform in shape.
*Taste: here’s the real test! Perfect little “eggs” that feel pleasant on the palate (very nice smooth texture!), that gently *pop* with a pleasant lightly salted flavor. No weird aftertaste.
*Final thoughts: I LOVE this product, even better than the real thing, and I HIGHLY recommend it! This is not a novelty product, it is an amazing substitute to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I’m absolutely amazed at how some of these companies put out such fantastic flavorful plant based products that are so similar, if not better, than the real thing.
