A la caza del octubre rojo, es a mi parecer el mejor libro de Clancy, y con toda razon es el comienzo de los enormes exitos de libreria de este autor. Narra la historia de un comandante ruso, Marko Ramius que decide desertar a USA llevandose con el, al Octubre Rojo, el ultimo y mas moderno de los submarinos lanzamisiles ruso. Un detalle que Clancy comienza a utilizar con mucho exito es la mencion de hombres claves en el desarrollo de la trama, en este libro se menciona, a parte de Jack Ryan, a Cardinal y Sr. Clark que seran luego tema de otros libros de Clancy: El Cardenal del Kremlin y Sin Remordimientos. El libro esta lleno de detalles tecnicos que no entorpecen la lectura y para aquellos interesados en submarinos, incrementa mas aun los deseos de conocer mas aun estas fromidables maquinas. Una excelente y apasionante lectura.
