This book was a little different in that Dank's opposition was a sole created as Pagan's mate instead of another soulless creation.
I never really felt any meaningful connection between Jay and Pagan so him being the mate to her soul was a stretch. In a previous book I remember thinking that she seemed indifferent to him and his absence. It is stated multiple times that the were inseparable in high school until he graduated and they broke up. They didn't even attempt to stay in contact with each other, and she described their ending as something she was easily at peace with, so the described soul connection is not entirely believable.
Pagan's, and everyone else's, memories of Dank and the recent happenings have been removed and Pagan is given a chance to reconnect with the soul that was created as a mate to hers. She has to again choose Dank over the competition, if they are to be together. Her actions and mindset seemed believable to me. She reacted to Dank in a similar way as the first time. Over time she spends a little more time with both and deals with her confusion as best she can.
Pagen's memories of Dank are all erased and his aim is to make her fall for him all over again, at times it was torture watching Pagen with other guys, i hated it i felt Dank's pain. My favourite character apart from Dank will have to be Gee. This one was much hotter than im used to in this series and i loved it, cus its matured. Im actually very sorry to see the end of this series :( i need more of Dank, but if i need to ill just go back and read it all over again.
Abbi has always been one of my top 5 authors i love all her books, i have read all of them and none of them have dissapointed me all of them have gone above and beyond. Abbi is a gifted writer who knows how to draw you in and love all the charcters and feel every emotion with them like they were your own.
I cannot wait to read what you write next Abbi...
Dank - " Understand this, Pagan Moore, if you ever offer to strip for me then you will have my complete undivided attention"
Dank - "you aren't a game, you will never be a game to me"
I recommend this book to everyone :)
The Story: Pagan and Miranda start college and Gee is next door to them. Very convenient but it was great and there was no parental supervision ;) . Jay, Pagan's ex is nearby and there are still some flames that either need to be rekindled or put out. Pagan must decide if she loves Jay because their souls are mates (even though she doesn't know it) or give in to her total attraction to Dank (again). To do it fairly it has been decided that she can't have memories of her relationship with Dank. It went along ok, but at one point I wanted to throw the kindle when I thought there might be a brief love triangle. All I have to say is THANK YOU Ms. Glines for not going down that road.
Twists and Turns: Nothing massive, but I did not expect Leif to do what he did. He totally made his move and I didnt' see it coming.
The Friends: I was meh about Gee before this book, but this time around I truly loved her and her whoreish ways. LOL. For real! She just laid it all out there. I also liked Miranda more in this installment, and I got a good few giggles out of her.
The Romance/SEX: YAY. That is all. This installment was very heavy in the romance department which was SO OK WITH ME. This book was more about their love than Pagan seeing souls or retribution and it just tied it up so nicely for me.
Dankmar: I feel so much better now that I know the meaning behind his name. I loved it! I also still just loved him. He is the hero I dream about reading.
"I'm all about the naughty"
The Ending: Perfect. le sigh
Rec it? Yes, I loved, loved, loved this trilogy. It has the perfect combination of romance, UST, and a fabulous paranormal story. Happy reading!
