About the Author
Hi, I'm Alyce-Kay (Hanush) Ruckelshaus, founder of Threshold of Hineni. I’m passionate about my relationship with God and love helping others cultivate a closer walk with him. I'm ardent about helping you discover that He wants to lavish you with His affection. I met my husband, Bill, online in 2014 and we got married later that year. I'm a hot mess, but he's totally crazy about me ... and that gives me a ton of hope and joy. We currently live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with two dogs and a cat. My greatest passion in life is to see people unleashed to be who God calls them to be. That's what's behind my teaching, my writing, etc. It's why my heart drags me to broken people. Those of us who have been wounded and broken are the ones God mends and heals. He whispers His greatest dreams into our hearts. It's the brokenness that makes us more pliable, once the brittleness is gone. And it's the emptiness that enables us to be filled. About Threshold of Hineni: Hineni is a Hebrew word that means Here I am. I think of it in the sense of This is me, just as I am, with all my quirks and gifts and failures. I love that God accepts me that way. It also means, Here I am, send me, use me, in the sense of Abraham, Moses, and Isaiah being willing to go wherever God wants them to go and do whatever He wants them to do. It's been my lifetime prayer, as well. A threshold is what you cross when you go through a doorway. It means that you're entering or exiting ... perhaps coming home after a long day ... or heading out into a fresh adventure. It smells of home fires and comfort and healing. It also affirms a new beginning. My dream and my prayer is to be instrumental in helping people come to the Threshold of Hineni. The prayer I pray as I work is always that my readers and the recipients of my artwork would grow closer to God and know Him well enough to follow Him wherever He takes them, to be able to stand on the threshold, whether going out or coming in, and say, "Hineni." I earned my bachelors in Religious Studies (emphasis in theology and Greek) from Westmont College in 1983.
