About the Author
Colleen M. Wint is a Jamaican woman who works in the Caribbean as a communications and international relations professional. She earned her BSc. in social administration from the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in 1983, and a MA in media arts from the New School, New York City in 1985.
As a child, Colleen attended two all-girl schools: South Hampstead High School for Girls in London, England and St. Andrew High School for Girls in Kingston, Jamaica. She has worked in both the private and public sectors, but finds social development work to be most rewarding.
Before writing Celebrating Me, Colleen was proudest of her involvement in the creation of the children’s book Diego Dish and Carlotta Spoon, which developed out of a parent story-telling group. She lives in Jamaica with her partner and has two children, Djavila and Ryan.
