Born to missionary parents in French Equatorial Africa, Doug Rosenau has passionately been a sexual ambassador, therapist, professor, theologian and author in Evangelical Christianity for the past thirty years. His book, A Celebration of Sex, that was published in 1994 was actually shrink-wrapped when it first began being sold in Christian bookstores. Dr. Rosenau is a licensed psychologist, marriage and family therapist, certified sex therapist, and the author of many books and teaching videos on sexuality from a Christian world view.

After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.), Doug received his doctorate (Ed.D.) from Northern Illinois University and teaches Human Sexuality and Sex Therapy nationally as a popular conference speaker and as a professor at Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. As co-founder of the Christian organization Sexual Wholeness, he has helped to create the Institute for Sexual Wholeness that trains Christian sex therapists and educators.

Dr. Rosenau and his wife, Catherine, live in Atlanta, Georgia, and have a daughter, Merrill, and granddaughter Caitlyn, who is the apple of his eye. He loves to mentor and help people grow in that important part of life and relationships, their sexuality. This book was recommended to me by a counselor after I expressed concerns and anxiety over issues with my own sex life thanks in part to medical issues such as vulvodynia and intersistial cystitis. I feel like, thanks in part to about how little christian girls (and boys I guess too- wouldn't know about that though) are told or given leway to talk about sex even after marriage- at least that's my experience so even 6 years into my marriage- I struggle not only emotionally but physically with sex. We've also dealt with infertility and once we did get pregnant, I lost my son at 23 weeks so there is now grief associated with it. This book has been a life send for me- to read advice and christian values and thoughts from a sex therapist, means that I feel like I am now supported in getting help for the medical issues as well. Vulvodynia is something that is not well known and there is a full 2 pages of information about it and how it can affect you so this is so meaningful for me. I like that it goes along with the title- God really did create sex to be a celebration between a woman and man and if this is an area that you struggle with- I highly suggest this book to you whether you are just married and struggling with how to see sex as a good thing in marriage after being told all your life that it's bad and not to do it and all that, or just struggling with it because of medical issues. I highly recommend this as well as going to counseling to help with whatever issues you have. Definitely a high quality resource for christians and it doesn't make you feel like you're "weird' or wrong for thinking one way or another.

One of the very best Christian Counseling and Love guides out there by far; Rosenau covers a broad range of a little everything all the way from communication to foreplay to science to message to sex. In addition Rosenau covers information of psychological and physiological factors, the guidance of being a true romantic, scriptures to better open up dimensions of desire in a justified way. Much much more broad ranges I refuse to give out because the simple fact is all Christians and non-Christians should have this book; illustrations (drawings) are carried out through certain topics to better accommodate an understanding of the concepts explained. Finally a true guide that not a rip-off! A superior book not to be put to side; in many ways once you purchase this book as I have you'll know that majority of the book to your standards are 98% correct so it's definitely worth adding to your collection! Honesty this book I would recommend to others, because it's fundamental to knowledgeable science and biblical truth. It doesn't mislead people into thinking there limited on various sex plays, but when married Rosenau does point out there are no limits to mature love and sex! That's highly important.
