Samina is a outstanding lawyer with a client list of the celebrity kind, she has grown her practice to be one of the best there is. But she isn't happy with her personal life any longer remaining in the shadows. So she has filed for divorce from her husband who has remained a secret to his family due to his father's political career. Devin her husband, does not want the divorce, he has decided that she is worth fighting for and doesn't want to lose her. He sets out to show her that they are meant to be together, one of Samina's clients is also set out to get her married off because he doesn't know she is already married so what ensues is a really great read. Can Devin win her heart before someone else steps in and up to the plate for her>
and drama was going to end. That being said this book doesn't have a cliff hanger but it does end in quickly leaving the reader wondering
what happened. The problems are solved in the seconded book, I didn't like this story as well as I did Senator. Samina is a lawyer to some very
celebrity clients and always in the limelight. She has had a secret marriage to a Federal Magistrate Judge for five years. No one knows except
her best friend Jacinta, who is also the sister of her husband Devin. She is tired of seeing her husband with other women at social events.
So she files separation papers on Devin. This is his wake up call. He will have to make some hard changes, and prove to Samina who is first in
his life, this career, and making his famous father happy or keeping his wife.
One has a love, hate feelings for Devin. Samina, has been hurt so many times by him, she doesn't believe him.
The only thing I really had a hard time with is all the graphic sex they have in some really strange places. They are trying to save the marriage
still don't trust each other but go at each other like bunnies everywhere ? No talking about the problems.
If I had read this one first am not sure I would have read the second. I don't mind some steaming sex in a book, but do want more
to the story and plot them just that. As I still want to know about Tara's story I hope I will be getting an ARC for it soon...
I also was aggravated because I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it didn’t.
The book ended and I’m not sure I’m completely satisfied, but it was still good. Loved the dynamics, loved the characters, and also really loved the idea of this. Just not entirely feeling resolved.
Celebrity has all this and lots of political intrigue. Samina is awesome. She’s an amazing lawyer with a thriving practice. Her celebrity clients have catapulted her into the limelight. She’s built her dream home on the coast and life is going well. Except for her pending divorce. She’s still madly attracted to her husband and far too in love with him but she’s not willing to be his secret bride any longer.
Devin has kept their marriage a secret for years because of his father’s political career and his own aspirations to be a federal judge. He’s gotten his appointment as a judge and in no way wants a divorce from his sexy, fascinating wife. Samina’s determination to live life on her own terms actually makes Devin care for her more.
Even as Devin tries to work his way into Samina’s life, she’s preparing for a huge leap into politics herself. The good old boy political hacks really got my ire up. Their misogynistic ways are loathsome and far too real. I really wanted Samina to give them their comeuppance and cheered when she did.
The supporting characters were all great too. Snow creates very real, complex people with real-life problems and responses.
I love the entire story. I laughed, I cried, I cheered, at times I wanted to punch Devin, but I always wanted Samina and Devin to find their way back together. Their journey had me ugly crying more than once!
