About the Author
Born and raised in the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, she has degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. She worked for more than twenty-five years as a software engineer, designing and writing financial applications, though she has also held second jobs as a deli clerk, pub waitress, restaurant baker, and secretary that she draws upon to give real-life dimension to her characters.
Abbie has been crafting stories since elementary school, though she has only recently decided to start sharing them with others. When she's not escaping into another world of her own creation, she's a busy wife and mother of three, including a set of identical twins. Besides being an avid reader and writer, she loves animals (especially big dogs), American muscle cars, and 80's hair bands.

Zane lost his family (parents and little sister) in a very traumatic way. He’s been out of the marines for a couple of months, but he hasn’t recovered from his loss and has been drowning his sorrows in his start-up security consultant business, exercise and any woman who smiles his way. That is until he sees the honey blond Goddess by the pool and he turns into an insecure, mumbling teenager.
Celeste is trying to get a fresh start after some very bad experiences. She’s a slightly socially awkward computer genius (as in builds and programs them) and she has just moved near her mom to rebuild their relationship. She would have never thought an Adonis such as Zane would give her a second look, and although Zane confesses at some point that she is not his usual type, they seem to be meant for each other, arousing feelings they’ve never experienced before.
After the first hook up, Zane can’t stop thinking about her and Celeste is equally affected. Soon they start spending more and more time together. While neither is exactly looking for a relationship, what started out as the best sex they’ve ever had morphs into feelings that can’t be stopped from growing.
I’ve said before, I love Ms. Zanders style and her alpha male leads. Once they find “the one” they eventually get their heads out of their butts and refuse to let her go. Zane stepped up, finally, but it did take him some time to get there. It was so cute seeing this super confident, decisive, alpha soldier fumbling around a hot girl. It made him that much more endearing.
Celeste was the type of h you can connect to even with all her awkwardness. She was constantly battling her demons and trying to better herself and learn from her past mistakes. It was a delight to see her blossom under Zane’s rough but gentle hands… and other body parts ;)
Not everything is hearts and rainbows though. A freaking crazy ex, the need to overcome personal demons and some pretty idiotic male reasoning will stand in their way to a happily ever after.
There was one thing that bugged me a little, and that was the situation with Zane’s family, or more accurately, his apparent lack of closure. By no means am I trying to say he should be over it, but the whole thing felt a little unfinished. Maybe it was just that we don’t get to see him deal with it.
Celestial Desire is one of my all-time favorites from Ms. Zanders and she's become one of my auto-buy authors no matter the genre she writes.
I had Celestial Desire sitting on my kindle for some time and am now kicking my own ass for not getting to it earlier. I loved it.
Abbie Zanders is one of my favorite authors which is why I downloaded Celestial Desire. Although it was a quick read, it was still an enjoyable foray into the hearts and minds of two very interesting but slightly damaged characters. Honestly, I could not put it down. I loved every well written page, from the first sentence to last period of the epilogue. Celestial Desire is packed with an interesting plot, steamy chemistry, sexy-sweet-humorous banter, likable characters, a really bad villain and a satisfying HEA. Lastly, Zane and Celeste's story is for mature readers because it also deals with disturbing domestic violence, and has some very hot sexual scenes and explicit language.
The heroine is OK as she battles her way forward in life despite all odds. Sometimes she does seem a little doe-eyed, however.
The hero, on the other hand, is your tough-on-the-outside, wimp-on-the-inside alpha male that is so typical of the genre he is almost a cliché.
The basic plot wasn't a bad one, but more emphasis is placed on the characters pondering and discussing their feelings than on moving the story forward. So a lot less goes on than could have.
There are some brief scenes with a little sensuality, as well as at least one with some explicit violence, so the book is intended for adult audiences only.
Nonetheless, if what you are looking for is a light, sappy romance read, this one might be exactly right for you!
Here is my detailed review:

Would I read another book by this author? Probably not
Zane was just adorably wonderful, even though I got tired of his moping at the end of the book. I thought his reasoning was okay, but personally I wouldn't have enough patience... but I'm not Zane. All in all, he's a swoonworthy romance hero.
Celeste, I felt, was also wonderful. Shy and awkward, but so kind and soft-hearted and brave and smart, and deep inside also tough and resourceful. I wanted her to just go after her man there at the end, to be a little more pro-active and show some of that spine and determination.
All in all, though, this book left a smile on my face for hours after I finished it.

Celeste is looking to start afresh after her psycho ex is imprisoned.
She's intelligent and beautiful and not his usual type of bed partner. But her naivety, inexperience and pure naturalness stirs something inside him.
He's hot, sleek, sexy and probably good for a one nighter, (so she can cross 'hot sex with a stranger' off her bucket list).
The sex starts within hours of their initial meeting, (within a few pages), and throughout the book they go at it like rabbits. There's mention of their tragic pasts but nothing in great detail. The storyline doesn't really move from a slow to steady pace, with a few 'Duh', moments thrown in.
An ok quickish read, reminiscent of a mills and boon style book. Full standalone with hea and all that jazz.
The romance is unusual for her - see a handsome guy and get pretty much straight in lust. As luck would have it he doesn't have a relationship so they start sleeping together. But a previous relationship of hers will cause problems. The ex-army boyfriend does have a life of his own but is smart enough to know a good woman when he finds one. This novella is a mature romance.
