I purchased this to add to my everyday face cream after stumbling on a research paper indicating that micronized collagen can actually penetrate the skin barrier and cause noticeable improvements, unlike the common topical collagen formulations.
After digging around on the internet, it appears collagen wound fill powder is most likely to be the micronized collagen I'm looking for and can get easily as a consumer.
Added ~2% by weight to my favorite everyday face cream, mixed extremely well and allowed a few hours for the collagen to hydrate.
After applying, there was a noticeable improvement in my skin texture and softness beyond what the unmodified cream produced, and that remained even after washing the product off. I've seen steady improvement with regular use.
I have only used it once for wound care and it did significantly improve healing. For the same reasons it's so effective for wounds, it's also effective for skin care.
It does have a strong gelatin scent when the tube is first opened and used, but that faded after a couple hours once mixed with cream.
Not suitable for vegans/vegetarians.
Very pleased, will purchase again.
