I am a college student taking an Enviromental Science class that uses this text book. All the things you will need or want to know about the Earth's sustainable enviroment and how it shapes our lives is not enough to learn in one semester or quarter, but the author G. Tyler Miller JR. does a great job of condensing a LOT of important information into this text.

One of the great things is that the author invites the students who read his text to send him comments or ask him questions. Miller openly admits in the text that he thinks enviromental science is the most important thing you will learn in your lifetime. It dictates your health; the kind of water you drink and how your food is grown and what is in the air you are breathing right this moment. From how hazardous waste, soil management all the way to the path of sustainability this book has pretty much everything you want to know about the enviromental sciences (albiet condensed). It's even printed on recycled paper.

Professor said the book was mandatory so I brought it, haven't read a single word inside the book all quarter because it really wasn't necessary for the class at all, just a extra reference point if I needed it which I never did. Cute penguins!

Purchased for a class as required text. Book was an excellent addition to course lecture, and a good resource. Would recommend to others. Kept a relatively good value at trade in provided you don't mark it up.

I ordered this book because it was the required text for my Environmental Science class. The book arrived faster than promised and was in great shape. The writing and content of the text seems appropriate for the class level but unfortunately all the graphs and pictures are in gray scale. When trying to decipher worldwide data from maps it is difficult to determine which shade of gray actually applies. The lack of color in an educational text truly creates the appearance of a half-hearted effort by the publisher. I would have happily paid a few dollars more to be able to use all the information contained within the book.

I really enjoyed the textbook, not only because it was for class but it made me think and want to read it. I just wish that for the e-books that it was easier to flip through a large amount of pages at one time instead of having to do a run about to make that happen.

Decided to get a digital version instead of the hard copy because it was half the price and I simply wanted it for a class. However, for someone that didn't know anything about sustainable environment I found it very helpful and I wish I had the hard copy for future reference. It break things down to help you understand in the most basic ways, and the diagrams help visualize. Unfourtunately, even though it defines all the terms, some areas were vague and I had to go online to understand better. Nevertheless, the main problem I had with the digital copy was that the text was not aligned correctly. Therefore, quite often, when using the "reading" and "highlighting" options the text was read or highlighted in the wrong order. In other words, if you like digital copies because they can be read to you and because you can highlight just as a real textbook, you may not want this book didgital because those options were unusable many times.

I have this book available in an e-book through my University. We are supposed to do a concept map for every chapter, but I do not do well with e-books so I bought this hard copy book. My cmaps are coming out perfect now. Besides being inexpensive, this book is very interesting and enhacing to my learning in nature!

The book came a little later than exspected, but also came in ok condition. I was hoping that since the sender was sending it in state that they it would get here sooner. They took a couple extra days to get here but in all it wasn't too bad of an experience.
