I purchased a clawfoot tub and wondering how exactly I would work the shower and the tub part. Using this faucet I was able to purchase adapters from Lowes and connect a shower hose to a shower head and use the adapters to connect to this faucet.
You must be careful when tightening the threaded part to the shower line adapter not to overdo it because it will break. Just go slow and make sure you use tape or plumbers Pro dope to avoid a leak.
My claw foot tub was made in 1925 and this lined up perfectly it has a very basic look and what I would expect on an older tub. I haven't used it very much but the knobs are tight and I am a little worried that my kids my strip them.
When I hooked it up it did drip a little bit, but after the first day it would seem the seals move back into place.
You will need a 1/2 inch to 3/8 adapter and a 1/2 inch nipple i used brass from Lowes, to connect a shower hose. Pain in the butt, but did the job. See the photo.
Good purchase overall.
This seems to be a production problem as another buyer here had the same exact problem and I don't see a remedy for it. Time to return it to the manufacturer and reinstall the old one. It's too bad because the faucet is nice looking and seems pretty well made, but if it doesn't work it's just an expensive paperweight !
I wrote earlier (above) that this faucet was not great. Now the part you faucet had parts fall off of it. Several parts fell off into the tub. The main piece is pulled up to allow the water to go to the shower. I cannot find any instructions on how to put the parts back. The faucet will allow water to go into the tub. But I bought it for the shower attachment. It was a cheap price but not even worth what it cost:(

About a day after I wrote this I was deleting emails and noticed this company actually had emailed asking how the product was working out. I wrote them a note about the problem, and they sent a replacement piece immediately. I am upping my stars as I haven't had a problem since. Thank you!
