They make the best tasting simple tomato soup I ever made. They are very special. Note that the regular San Marzano tomatoes have a little bit more sugar (one percent) than the organic ones. Both are excellent.

Quite a few years ago I ended up taking an Italian cooking class. During the class we learned how to make homemade tomato sauce. The instructor was very insistent upon using these exact tomatoes to make the sauce. She told us that even though things sometimes will say that they are from Italy, when you actually check the label, it turns out that they are not. The sauce that we learned how to make in her class was the best! Every year since, we have a "sauce" day and make a few batches of the sauce to freeze and use throughout the year! I always make sure to buy this exact product and the sauce always turns out delicious! Way better than the mass produced jar stuff. The only thing is, is that since these are imported, they are a little on the pricier side and depending on how many batches of sauce you're making, you could spend quite a bit on these cans. In my opinion though, it is well worth it. When you use high quality ingredients, you usually end up with a good product as well!

Every can was significantly dented. I am so worried about the seal that I will not use them to make sauce for others. (Yes, I know I should have sent them back.)
