THE MOVIE: "Central America" is the 2nd episode in the "Burro Has Three Wheels" a motorcycle DVD series movie filmed on the Pan American Highway. A Trans America Highway in the greatest sense.
Filmed in a reality style this movie is similar to what is seen on The Discovery Channel and Travel Channel. Come along on a solo motorcycle tour riding a BMW styled Ural motorcycle with a sidecar. Countries include Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama en-route to the end of the world, Fin del Mundo, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina via the Pan American Highway.
Seldom available through the mainstream media, the "Burro Has Three Wheels" DVD series episode "Central America" presents true images of the roads, landscapes & peoples of the Americas. This motorcycle movie takes those interested in adventure travel & long distance motorcycle touring beyond book format on the ultimate road trip. It is a preview to a fantastic journey. The sound track includes fabulous Blues & Latin artists.
Building upon his initial filming experiences, three subsequent motorcycle touring movies have been released, episode (5) Alaska Prudhoe Bay Highway, episode (6) Alaska to Labrador Highway and episode (7) Newfoundland to Florida. This is an amazing feat for someone who produces, films, edits and distributes the movie solely without corporate backing.
Even though Gary Smith had no plans to film his journey or previous filming experience the DVD has been greatly received by viewers. He uses a standard video camera with judicious use of his cell phone's camera to enhance the struggle & giving the movie a faraway look.
