Good quality port-a- potty

I have twins and this was a better option than the usual kids potty that needed to be constantly emptied & washed. We use it only for number one emergencies. Number two means a walk to the bathroom! But it
Has held up to continued daily use for over a year. Is easy to empty and clean. The kids are able to flush water down into it by pushing the button but the lever that needs to be pulled out to drop the contents down into the bottom tank is tough to pull out and push in. My son can do it but my daughter needs help with it. Even Vaseline or wd40 doesn't help. Otherwise, it's a good extra toilet to have around and I am guessing a decent if not great RV potty.

We purchased this portable toilet for our lake cabin. It lasted all of three weeks before the 'flushing' handle broke off a small washer part from where the waste mechanism slides in and out. It leaked slightly at first, then profusely. Yuck!!! It is a poor design. The only promising parts of the design are the clips to hold the seat portion to the waste tank. The clips were useless when the waste leaks onto the floor through the 'flusher'. I can't recommend this portable toilet.

For what it does, this outdoor toilet works great. Dumping the waste is obviously not a pleasant task but for our family it was mandatory in order for the ladies to join us outdoors. I recommend a privacy pop up shelter as well if you are camping. Also recommend asking guests to limit the number of flushes as this reduces the amount of water jugs you need to fill, carry and frequency of waste disposal. A full tank lasted four females and two kids a full two days in the woods.

it doesnt smell, I left pee in it at my camp, "Camp Cougar", and no sign of it ever been used. One problem is that I used the suggested bags for it, and when my 6 year old did a #2, it wouldnt fall down into the toilet because the bag was obstructing the hole into the toilet. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I opted for no bag and it still doesnt smell.

The good:

- It works as advertised

- Does not leak, unless it tips over during transport (the fresh water tank leaks)

- Seems solid in body, seals and connections, except the cover (don't stand on it).

The not as good:

- Flushing tube is not too powerful, perhaps having multiple nozzles would have helped. It seems to only rinse a certain section of the bowl.

- It leaks when it tips over (which you should guard against), probably from the bellows or rinse tube (it leaks clean water only)

- It is prone to tipping over when it only has fresh water in it (becomes top-heavy). The smaller model probably would be more stable.

- It lacks a pressure-relief valve which some more expensive toilets have. When it comes time to empty the waste tank, one must be rather careful when opening it as internal pressure build-up can cause it to splash initially, probably in your face. Alternatively, relieve pressure with the cover down, then remove the tank.

I have not tried any chemicals in it yet (short trips).

I was a little apprehensive about ordering this thing after reading another buyers review about this item opening a secret portal to an alternate universe. But I Googled it and found the solution. To not get the portal to an alternate universe you have to have the correct water to blue toilet tablet ratio. This thing really does do the job though! And it holds a lot of crap! Literally!
