Lowest price on the market for this type of product and it works ideally for us.
We decided to upgrade our streaming with a paid provider. We chose LiveStream because of its price point ($45/month vs. UStream's $99/month). Because everywhere on the box and product material it states that the LiveShell is compatible with LiveStream, we re-purchased this device. As we were trying to set it up (with no success), we stumbled upon the fact that LiveStream no longer supports RTMP streaming with the new LiveStream service. The LiveShell device worked wonderfully with UStream in our tests, but the UStream platform requires users to sign up for a paid account in order to not view ads, which doesn't work for us.
Here's the takeaway: UNLESS YOU'RE PLANNING ON USING USTREAM, THIS DEVICE IS WORTHLESS. If you're a LiveStream user, for an additional $50 (once you take into account the 3 free months of service included with the device), you can purchase the LiveStream Broadcaster, which is specifically designed to work with LiveStream.
We confirmed that YouTube Live had changed their specification in May 2013.
And now they support only H.264/AAC or H.264/MP3.
The LiveShell does not support H.264 cause of its hardware specification.
Thank you for your understanding.
I tried using the same camcorder with a BlackMagic Intensity Extreme (via Thunderbolt and HDMI) and I was able to get high quality (near HD) video streams on ustream. So we will be returning this product. I am still looking into wireless solutions so I may check out the Livestream Broadcaster and Teradek products.
Cerevo should make it clear that this device does NOT stream HD quality video. I assumed that since it uses HDMI, that it can stream a high quality video signal. Also, the description is a bit misleading. I wish Cerevo would make it clearer so they can save customers the hassle of returns!

I strictly purchased it to use with YouTube... IT DOES NOT WORK! YouTube requires H.264 compression, this device does not do it.Published 13 months ago by Samir Al-Busaidy
