I have read many books on the subject of proving the reasonableness of the Christian faith. This book surpasses all of them because it is simple yet powerful. This book is good for Christians because it enables them to be ready for an answer like instructed in the Bible. It is good for unbelievers because it discusses in an unbiased way of thinking why there is a good reason to believe. The main focus is on answering in a logical and a reasonable way that is both convincing and solid. Paul E. Little is talented in zeroing in on the essentials and dispelling the non-essentials. It is profound, comforting and fills the gaps that many are unable to fill satisfactorily. It has strengthened my faith and has made me bold in sharing my faith. God has used this book in my life to take all doubt out and put stillness and peace in.

A terrific resource that addresses the really thorny issues of Christianity and how it "works" in the lives of beleivers. Our adult study group spent nearly 12 weeks engrossed in this work. It is special.
This book is extraordinary in its ability to inductively deal with some of the toughest questions we have.
We thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent book on why you/we believe in God and what He has done. It was a help in helping me have a stronger Christian walk with my God and why I believe what I believe.

This is a brief overview of why Christians believe what they believe. In other words, the chapters contain answers to the basic questions that Christians are usually called upon to supply. The topics handled are reason, God, Jesus, the resurrection, the Bible, archaeology, science, miracles, experience, evil, and religion in general. The answers given may be brought under the two following heads mentioned in this sentence in the chapter on whether or not Christianity is rational: “I know the gospel is true. I always come back to two basic factors: the objective, external, historical facts of the resurrection, and the subjective, internal, personal experience of Christ that I have known” (p. 5.) The thesis, then, is to show that Christian faith is based on evidence, and is reasonable; and that Christian faith sometimes goes beyond reason but never against it (p. 5.)

The book seems mostly to befit Christians desiring to learn what to say to objectors to the Faith. Many will be relieved to find out that their evangelistic failures are not necessarily due to their lack of knowledge and ability to convey Truth. The problem may rest with those who are witnessed to: “Alleged intellectual problems are often a smoke screen covering moral rebellion” (p. 4.) So when a sinner wants to hold on to sins that you say he will be condemned for, he might dishonestly object that Christianity is irrational.

Many classic arguments are simplified and reproduced by Little to show the world that it is logical and eternally beneficial to believe and accept what the Bible says. He sets down many of the illogical positions that people hold in their passionate hope that the Bible is false. Then he goes about calmly correcting each one.

I've been to China, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, Russia and Japan. In none of these countries have I encountered an argument that was not sufficiently addressed in this brief book. It was the first book of its kind that I read and I have handed out more than 100 copies to soldiers. If it has a bibliography in the back for further studies, it would be well to line your library (and mind) with those as well.
