Has cleared my skin and is helpful for my husband's eczema

I love this skin cleanser! I don't think I'll ever be using anything different for my face. I've used a lot of skin cleansers, ranging from over-the-counter products like Clean and Clear or Neutrogena to Pro Active. I've gone to the dermatologist in the past who prescribed different topical medications but they just enraged my skin, leaving my skin inflamed, painful, and extremely dry. As an adolescent, the most common areas that I would get acne would be on my cheeks by my hair line. I tried changing my diet, keeping my hair off of my face, not touching my face, using medications, using Pro Active, using toner, not using face moisturizer, oil pulling method, tea tree oil, witch hazel, electric facial cleansing brush... nothing helped. As an adult, I've continued to have acne and I guess the hormone fluctuations between pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding seemed to make it worse. I have dry skin and I was washing my face twice daily with harsh over-the-counter facial cleansers. About a year ago, I decided to see a dermatologist again (my first time as an adult). She basically told me it was hormonal and that there was nothing that could be done unless I wanted to try taking medication. At the time, I was breastfeeding and trying to become pregnant again so taking medication wasn't an option (or even desired). She did recommend using a gentle skin cleanser twice a day and a facial moisturizer if needed that won't clog pores. Shortly after seeing the dermatologist (about a year ago) I began using only Cetaphil skin cleanser on my face twice daily. At first I was skeptical because I was so used to the thick harsh cleansers (that are also intended for oily skin, by the way). This cleanser felt so gentle, like thick water, that I felt like maybe it wasn't going to clean my face. After using, my skin was actually kind of soft and felt like it still had some moisture too. I will occasionally use a face moisturizer but I've had better luck not using any moisturizer at all. Since beginning to use the skin cleanser, my complexion has gotten so much better despite a second pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding. I rarely have acne now and am so thankful. In addition, my husband has painful eczema on his hands and he has started to use this on his hands at home and he has noticed an improvement as well. Gentle Cleansing

I have oily skin but like this cleanser in winter months when my skin becomes drier. It cleans gently and without stripping, leaving my skin soft. The first I used it, I was thrown because it doesn’t lather, but that’s just because that’s what I was used to. It not lathering is part of the gentleness and not stripping your skin. I will continue to use this seasonally based on my skin’s condition.

I use this all the time. My skin is very sensitive and I have never had a problem. A friend of mine recommended this to me that her Doctor recommended this to her. So I tried it and I do like it. Doesn't really have any fragrance and neither does the jar of cream, but works great. Like I said it is really gentle and the one for not so sensitive skin is foamy and works well too. I just thought this one would be more gentle, but they both are. So I highly recommend this facial cleanser.

I discovered this product years ago after my dermatologist diagnosed me with a rare kind of dermatitis that is caused by stress. The only way to cure it, he said, was to rotate off and on antibiotics and steroids for months at a time or have no stress. I did not like either of these options. I thought I could just put up with it, but it was on my chin. It was painful and looked very unhealthy. He also told me that our skin is our biggest organ and if it is not in shape, you can be predisposed to other infections. I had always just washed my face with some kind of facial soap. Usually what was on sale at the time. I had always had good skin before this and it was hard to realize that I had a big problem. I scoured the internet for a home remedy or anything that could help me. I found a chat room that was discussing the same dermatitis I had. Several people said that Cetaphil skin cleanser is the only thing that helps them. Not Cetaphil daily facial cleanser, but skin cleanser. I tried it because I was ready to be free of this painful dermatitis. After the second wash, my skin felt less painful. They also recommend a zero tolerance policy during this time. Meaning - no make up, moisturizers, etc. Only the Cetaphil. That may have been the hardest part because I need moisturizer every day. I did this for two weeks and the dermatitis was gone!!! And it has never come back as long as I use the Cetaphil every day. It returns your skin to the proper ph making it hard for your skin to develop any kind of infection. So for me, this is medicine. My new doctor did not believe me that I cured the dermatitis with skin cleanser! He just kept asking me if that was all I use. I told him what I did and to tell his other patients so they could get off the antibiotics if they wished to. Meanwhile, my skin is blemish free and pain free. And I don't worry about the rash ever coming back. Amazon has the best price too!!!

I have to say that the scent is alright, nothing really special. The wash does wash well, and comes off clean. It did not necessarily dry the skin off, but my skin got slightly red, initially. My skin did get used to it, and it works well. It does not clog pores, nor cause me any type of an irritation.

Gently cleanses but not over-drying. I use this once a day, in the morning. (I use a different facial cleanser at night that's more harsh to really remove my caked on make-up.) This product is very light and watery, not thick and creamy, which I prefer - meaning, less aggravating for people with sensitive skin or acne prone skin. Lastly, what's important to me is the fact that this is unscented. I have a really strong sense of smell and a lot of scented products easily give me headaches and migraines so I appreciate that this one does not give me the same problem.

Brilliant little cleanser

This product is absolutely brilliant! After just a few days of using it, my regular spots around my nose and on my chin had disapeared/been reduced. It is so soft on the skin, and, like it says, it doesn't dry it out which is what I've experienced with most cleansers and have been highly disappointed. This is what it says - a gentle skin cleanser, but it is much more.
Pros and cons;
Pros:
- It removes excess make up
- Leaves your skin feeling soft and exfoliated, even though it has no micro beads in
- Doesn't dry out your skin
- Can be used on all skin types (my friend with oily/combination skin loves this)
- Isn't harsh on sensitive skin and is use-able for morning and night
- Can be rubbed off with a towel, cotton buds or water (very versatile)
- Quick process (e.g none of that rubbish where you have to leave it on for 10 mins) can be put on and rubbed straight off and it still does it's magic

Cons;
- The packaging isn't too pretty, plain and simple
- It is very runny and comes out very quick - so be careful!
- My bottle was 236ml and on the name of this is clearly says 250ml. Not happy with the person who dispatched this to me and I know it isn't amazon so I will be emailing the person who sent this to me! (Hence why it's only 4/5 stars). I expect to get what I pay for.

Other than that this is a brilliant product, well worth the purchase. Highly recommended!

The photo indicates normal to oily skin ... but I received the all skin type product which is a far inferior cleaning product if you indeed have oily skin. The headline for the product does say gentle cleanse (but there is no "gently cleanse" product, hence relying on the photo). I unpacked to my skincare closet thinking I received what I ordered, then when I went to use, I noticed the product had moisturizers and a no scent when I pumped the product into my hand in the shower. Does not deep clean. You don't need more moisturizer when you already have oily skin ... so disappointing. Others have mentioned this issue as well. Be warned.
