But, we all have differently shaped feet, so what works for one in a shoe, will not work at all for another. I spent hours reading reviews, bought 4 pairs, and none worked. This time, I bought 7 pairs: Oofas, Birkenstock EFAs, Chacos, New Balance, Vionic, and 2 pair of Footminders.
Initial fit - because the material gripped my foot when I slid it in, I thought it might be a bit tight. When I walked, I realized how much room I had. These are not like the Oofas; more like the Birkenstocks in terms of foot bed give. But, not light as the Birkenstocks - definitely a denser material.
Width - definitely a wide shoe. All of my foot was on the foot bed. Better yet, the thong placement was accurate for my chunky big toe. Often the placement is such that the inside of my foot hangs off the foot bed. In this shoe, my whole foot fit! The straps are VERY generous - I often cannot get the front of my foot in straps at all - this was actually slightly too large.
Length - I ordered a 9W and this verges on being too long. If they made half sizes, I would go down a half size. They are not so long, however, to be a problem.
Comfort and support - these are similar to the Vionics and the Footminders. A denser, heavyish material without any squishiiness, but that are also not hard. I did not like walking in them, however, because it wasn't tight enough and my foot moved around too much. also, I could not feel the foot bed under my entire foot. Of all the ones I tried, these were some of the least supportive. Definitely enough for a flat foot, but not if you have high arches.
Wear - no idea.
Overall - too big! Not enough support for high arches. Lovely wide foot bed. See photo for more info.
