About the Author
Leroy Sealy is a retired Instructor of Choctaw Language for the University of Oklahoma, a native speaker of the Choctaw language, and a Choctaw language consultant. He presently works with Choctaw Nation School of Choctaw Language Department teaching a one-day-a-week community language class. He has co-authored nine sets of Choctaw bilingual storybooks with George Ann Gregory and has created other materials for Choctaw language learning. George Ann Gregory, associate professor at the University of Maryland University College, has worked in the area of Indigenous language and literacy/language education for over 40 years. A former Fulbright Scholar and Fulbright Specialist in American Indian Studies, she has worked with with a variety of Amerindian populations in the U.S. Southwest, Oklahoma, and Central America. Having a Choctaw grandmother that she never knew has fueled her interest in learning the Choctaw language.
