"I've been waiting for an original tale to knock me out of fictional boredom. The Chain does just that, with unique characters, dark discovery, and a realism you can't fake. I've fallen in love with Eric's magical world. It makes me want to pack up my makeup and fishnets and head for theWand and Weaver!"
"Wow! This is a very different sort of urban fantasy with some unusual twists and a timely take on alternative lifestyles. I feel honored that mysong was one of the things that inspired it! I felt like I knew thesepeople and find myself wanting to know more about all of them!"
From the Author
The Chain is an experiment. I wanted to see what would happen if I took elements of Magic Realism and added them to the story. I love the way that changed the way I wrote the characters and the setting, and depending on your feedback, I might push this even further in future books.
It took me two years to write The Chain, which was inspired by the song "When Giants Walked" by Kathy Mar. My proudest moment as a writer came from her response to the book. She loved it. I can't help but smile just thinking about that.
The Chain is a story unlike anything I have ever written or read. At its core, it is a post modern re-imagining of Cupid and Psyche, but to me it is so much more. It is an exploration of Gender, Community, Love, Faith, and Courage.
Who spreads love and Who spreads lies? I can't imagine a more powerful question. Love and Lies are opposites, not love and hate. That question beats at the heart of the book.
This is not a romance. Some disagree with me saying that, so I feel like I should explain. It is not a supernatural romance or part of any other romance genre. Love and affection are powerful themes in the book, but it doesn't follow the pattern of a typical romance novel.
I hope you love this book, and I really want to hear from you about it. Please take a moment to go to my DragonsOfNight.com, and drop me a line.
