This story touched so many parts of me that I don't know where to start. I wanted to cried, I wanted to hurt someone, but most of all I loved the over all power of the strong characters in this book. They took Stella from everyone that she love, but she was able to hold on with hope and a lot of prayer. After reading Chained and Chained to a You I am a big fan...WOW!!!
This book left me on an emotional high. A must read for anyone that love suspense, drama and a touch of romance. Come on dreamers this is the one for you, pick up a copy today!!!
This book picks up right where the last one ended. It has plenty of suspense and angst, and once that is half-resolved, it becomes downright emotional. Fantastic read!
The book starts off seven month after Stella was taken, and it has shockers like you have never see, if you have read the first book be prepared to have the shock of your life. The person who took her crossed my mind once and I thought no, no way. Even after Stella is found almost dead and dying there will be more shocks to come. There is just no way to review this book and not give it away so I will just say I truly enjoyed the read at this very fast pace book with more mystery and turn then you can shake a stick out.
The author has a wonderful plot that will keep you guessing and your mouth hung open thinking NO WAY WOW. I do have to say I felt the ending was rushed and just can’t see anyone giving up that fast when they have done so much to keep what they wanted. However I find this book to be mostly believable. The author didn’t take Doctor Dean where I thought she would, I don’t feel the author even had closure with Harry to why he thought the things he did. It was never told if the guns were clean or not. Doctor Dean turned out to be one hell of a man with nothing I would call as having secrets. I was glad to see Dean’s brother and him getting along. We do find out what happen to Deans ex which was surprising. I would have liked to have learnt more about Dean’s father in was kind of in and out with question left unanswered.
The author has a wonderful writing style with a wonderful plot. She pulls you right in and keeps you there hanging on her ever word. I really enjoyed the read and look forward to more from this author as long as there are no cliffhangers.
In this book, we actually get Dean’s pov, which I was excited about. I enjoy dual povs, and it was essential to having this story told properly. We find out a lot of things about Dean that were kept secret in Book 1 and that both explain and tie together some things the reader may not have been expecting.
Not only did Book 1, Chained, end in a huge cliffhanger, but the reader also gets hit with an extra-large surprise in the very beginning of this book, adding to the drama and creating the story that’s to come in this book.
I enjoyed this book more than I did the first one. While the editing was still lacking, I felt the writing was better and the story was more intriguing.
There’s more than one sick-and-twisted villain…
“…I think _____ had an accomplice…” (Can’t give away too much!)
a pleasant surprise…
“She’s our miracle Dean…”
an unexpected friendship…
“I turned to Carl, ‘Well are you ready?’ ‘More than I will ever be,’ he grinned.”
and the debate over true feelings finally resolved.
“That what I thought I was feeling before, I realised while locked away, was no more than lust. Or was it?”
Again, there were a few things that were confusing or lacked full resolution. For example: I never could figure out (and it never clarified) whether Dean’s secretary, Cindy, was the same Cindy his brother had previously been engaged to or if they just happened to have the same name. Also, a big deal was made about Dean’s dad and what an a-hole he was and how he could make their lives miserable, yet nothing really happened with him. It just seemed like he was built up as potential drama and then just left out there.
Despite all that and the editing errors, I could definitely see the improvement in the writer from Book 1 to Book 2. I found this read enjoyable and intriguing. I loved Dean—despite his faults and near obsession with Stella—and even grew to love both Brendon and Carl. You have to read Chained in order to understand what’s going on in this book, and even though I didn’t enjoy it as much, it’s worth it so that you can appreciate this story.
