That's right...there are five couples in this 300 page story, all in different stages of relationship - and three couples actively engaging in sex. Now, I can get behind a plot revolving around three sisters and their love interests being told simultaneously. But then throw in two other couples on top of it and it got to be a bit much for me. It wasn't complicated to follow along at all, rather the plotline, cohesion, and flow of the story was affected. It became choppy. Just as I was getting involved with one couple, the next chapter we were thrown into another couple's story. I understand secondary characters and their development, especially when they are being set up for sequels. But this particular setup was unlike anything I've read before, and for good reason. It was just all over the place. Focus on one couple, develop a good storyline, and then run with it. It's a formula that works.
At about 75% in, I began skipping pages to get to the "main characters'" story. I began to care less about the other couples. I was getting restless for some conclusion. I will not be reading the other books in this series.
This is obviously a personal preference. The writing on the whole was good. Not too many grammar/typo errors. I think if there had been less guests invited to the party, more world building, and more plot development in regards to the main characters, I would have enjoyed it.
I did love that there were more than just one couple because it makes it more of a fun read. The characters were very well developed and I enjoyed all of them, except maybe for Tyrian. He was my kind of dark and handsome though, that's for sure. It was a well written story and it did make me laugh a lot because Lilly and Chloe are something else and they're so opposite of the men that they want in personality. Oh and I loved Henry, but didn't much like the Doctor woman who he loved. This is a very action and passion packed story and I found it to be a very enticing read. :)
