As for the content, the original miniseries of the Gobots was okay. It was a decent enough introduction to the series. The show definitely got better when the show proper started airing about a year after this miniseries did.
Why do the producers of DVD material insist on making stupid edits? Wouldn't it be far easier to just take the original source material and convert rather than take the time to make stupid editing choices that the viewer didn't want?
The only thing I would have liked more, to give it a five star, would be to have a little behind the scenes director's history and some interviews with the voice actors/actresses. If that is not important to you, then I would give it Five stars. The picture quality is clear as if it would be shown as a new cartoon of today,

Whilst most known for Scooby-Doo, Hanna Barbera has done plenty of top quality shows, this being one of them, although overshadowed by the Transformers animated series, the Gobots series is fun and despite being a product of its time, it can still hold up against modern day shows. The animation is very good, the lines are pretty solid, the story and characters are fun, if you haven't seen the series before, now is the time to get acquainted with this 80s classic, you won't be disappointed!
The Gobots came first, the makers of the transformers copied the Gobots & had much more success. But that in no way diminishes the story line that they came up with for the Gobots animated series. This miniseries is 5 episodes or the length of a feature film. A total of 65 episodes were made in this series. This is the miniseries that started it all. Any who remember watching IT has a kid will enjoy it. Transformer fans will enjoy watching this series(the father of the transformers)
Warner brothers did a very good job on the restoration.
