About the author

DR HUME JOHNSON is an Associate Professor of Public Relations and a branding and communications strategy consultant. She helps leaders build their personal brand, clarify their messages and communicate effectively to the media and key stakeholders.
A former broadcast journalist, and political speechwriter with the Government of Jamaica, Hume has worked with a diverse range of clients including political candidates, elected officials and diplomats; senior corporate executives, entrepreneurs and business leaders, diplomats, entertainers, and attorneys-at-law.
A noted political scholar and analyst, Hume is the author of 3 books: Challenges to Civil Society: Popular Protest and Governance in Jamaica; Brand JAMAICA: Re-imagining A National Image and Identity and Brand YOU: Reinvent Yourself, Redefine Your Future, as well as a plethora of journal articles on various aspects of governance and civil society.
