Minky Backing, Not Sherpa!

I bought one of these in 2019 for my husband for a gift, and it is still very nice, soft and retained it's quality, even after washing in cool water and drying on the lowest possible setting.

I came here looking for one exactly like this one to get for myself finally, and at first I thought I would not be able to get the one that is such a beautiful quality! I clicked this image thinking I would be taken back to the exact one I had bought my guy, only to find they have this "sherpa" backing and everyone is upset that when they washed it, it looked awful I don't blame them. I already have a cheap blanket I bought off Amazon before that has a "sherpa" backing... if by sherpa they mean one wash and it looks like a clumpy mess and won't come all the way clean.

THIS blanket (with the "minky" backing) AS it was made in 2019 with the very soft plush backing, held up even after washing in cool water and drying on the very lowest possible dryer setting. It is just as beautiful now, four years later as it was when we bought it. I really love it, and am really really hoping the Tusicon is the same quality. Time will tell. I would not recommend clicking on the link for this particular blanket and buying it though, because it now links to a different version that does not appear to be as high of a quality.

I am going to buy the Tusicon version, and will let you know what I think after I have washed it.

I do NOT recommend the Sherpa backed ones, because they look exactly like the cheap faux fur blanket I am now trying to replace (mine, not the one pictured above) which after ONE wash on cool water and the lowest setting, looked horrible, and never recovered. I am crossing my fingers the Tusicon one is as nice as it looks, and that it is the same quality as this ^^ one that I bought my husband four years ago.

I was searching for “that” blanket. The soft cuddle go to blanket. I’ve ordered some online and upon arrive - super disappointing. That rough Acrylic feeling was not my idea of soft faux fur. I go by ratings and ran a crossed this one. I ordered one to try, the largest size for $33. Both sides are ridiculously soft! What’s the best part is it’s still lightweight making it easy to move around. I know that sounds silly but some are so heavy, they just don’t work.. plus you overheat and end up kicking them off. I stretched it over my entire bed, covering up my name brand Heavenly Bed Duvet (the Westin hotel bedding line) and smiled. Every day since getting it, the thought of just laying on top of it and watching tv... YUM! Everything is better with this blanket! It makes a crappy day okay again. The only problem is... You will want more. My 7 year old son now has one. I also found a similar type but not same brand Duvet Cover! Just be warned... you will LOVE THIS and want more. It’s truly a gift. I have also given 2 as gifts and my mom was worried I spent over $100 and I had to tell her where and how much... because she needed another. My mother in law, her neighbor wanted one. So just know, you’ll eventually have to tell everyone how much they are. Visiting my mom, my son spilled a drink on hers. I felt terrible and was worried how it was going to wash up. Just read and follow the label! It was actually even better after the wash because her wonderful smelling washing machine laundry soap now made the blanket smell Insanely delicious! I feel the key here is be sure to dry on LOW & DELICATE. Your blanket will be even better! I could see how any faux fur may not turn out well with hot water and hot heat. Don’t hesitate with this purchase if your on the fence! Great Quality, pretty color selection, great price for the best part of your day!

I hate, detest & despise skimpy throws that don't quite cover you. The chocolate brown is rich in color. One side is the long fur look and the other side is sherpa. Both sides are equally soft. Within 3 minutes, one of my cats discovered it on the couch and curled up in it. I can see that I will have some competition. As other reviewers have commented, the two sides float freely with no tacking down. If this becomes a problem, I'll simply put in a couple of stitches in by hand. They won't show because of the thickness of the fur & sherpa. At this point, it is not a problem. I can't comment on laundering because I haven't tried it yet. My best advice is to go with a larger size as I did. Great price and wonderfully warm. I'll update on the washing and drying after I've tried it.

3/17/19 I ordered my second one in ivory for my hair dresser as a Xmas gift. She LOVED it. And, I've now ordered a 3rd one in the blue/light turquoise for the cabin. Love these things!
