Praise for Change Agent
“Biopunk has been waiting for its William Gibson, to bring a whole new vision of the future as Mr. Gibson did for cyberpunk, and Daniel Suarez has done it...Exhilarating, alarming—Daniel Suarez plays the two great thrills of sci-fi against each other, and not just for fun. He thinks this is coming, and he means it. Read it and wonder.”—Wall Street Journal
“Besides being a rockin’ thriller, Change Agent is a vivid depiction of where ubiquitous gene editing might take us. I came away believing I'll be less surprised by the future.”—Kevin Kelly, Senior Maverick for Wired and New York Times bestselling author of The Inevitable
“The depth and sophistication of Suarez’s dystopian world—not to mention his facility at making complex science intelligible to the nonexpert—rivals anything Michael Crichton ever did.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)
“The action scenes are plenty lively, [but] the best thing about the book is its depiction of a troublesome future in which people can change physical identities the way they change clothes...A natural at making future shocks seem perfectly believable, Suarez delivers his most entertaining high-tech thriller yet.”—Kirkus Reviews
“The ultimate form of identity theft is just a genetic edit away in Suarez’s newest fast-paced, speculative thriller...Offer this to Michael Crichton and science fiction-suspense fans.”—Booklist

Suarez is rapidly establishing himself as a first class futurist calling attention to important questions. This story is much like Suarez' other books: fast paced in modern movie like fashion. These stories read like a movie franchise waiting to happen. I hope someone will pick up Daemon, Suarez' first and most enthusiastic and original book, and turn it into a movie with the rest of his books as scripts for sequels. I give four stars only because I personally would like to see more wresting with the moral, ethical, and social issues raised. It is another 5 star thriller from a great story teller. See my review of his excellent and original debute novel Daemon. (https://www.amazon.com/review/RB1VCV8P322JY/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=09786271050
Criminal organizations, however, can help you to go beyond just editing family defects, and offer a whole array of character feats that one can buy for your future kid, from high intelligence, communicative capabilities to athletic build.
Still, one criminal organizations has found a way to edit even more. This leads the main character, Ken Durand, a Singapore based interpol agent that fights these illigal gene editing clinics, to go through chilling circumstances. The story takes him to Thailand, Malaisia and Myanmar.
The book also describes the effects the author foresees of global warming and further digitization for employment and countries.
Although i do not share some of his predictions, Daniel Suarez' book is still very convincing and will keep you hooked to your (e)book till the very last.
Really enjoyed it.
