2013 Maggie runner-up for Best YA Book, Georgia Chapter,Romance Writers Writers of America

2014 Top 3 finalist for Rosemary Award in the New Adult Category - YA-Romance Writers of America

If there was a way to auto-sign-up to receive every one of Herbert's books, it'd be done already. I LOVED her Dark Seas series and was SUPER excited to see what she had in store with this.

Skye and Keelan were immediately relatable and endearing in this coming of age story with magic and fairies. Watching sky to come into her own as a witch was charming. I was rooting for her from the onset, and her flaws, especially as a witch, made the story engaging and suspenseful.

This was a fast and fun read, highly recommended. AMAZON TOP 500 REVIEWER

As usual, Debbie Herbert created a stellar story that will stay with me for a long, long time. Skye is the young lady most of us were in our late teens; a confused, still-searching-for-herself adolescent who doesn’t give herself enough credit. I loved how well I could relate to her character. Kheenan was complex and multi-dimensional, demonstrating the effects of a lifetime of abuse and neglect while still allowing the story to stay light. The magic and world-building was astoundingly vivid and colorful, while the storyline flowed perfectly with sprinklings of real-life social issues throughout (the slavery of the human race by fairies for one). The amount of research that went into every detail was obvious. Debbie made sure she knew her stones and her fae mythology inside and out. Of course, I expected nothing less. Debbie has once again displayed a bounty of talent for the creative writing process, officially making her my favorite author of 2015!

I absolutely adored this enchanting tale that blends Fae lore with the fascinating world of witchcraft in a coming-of-age story that will touch your heart with angst, humor, romance, and charm.

Teen witch Skye wants what every young girl wants - for her secret crush to fall in love with her. Tanner, childhood friend and her brother's BFF doesn't return her love. Enter Kheelan, a Changeling stolen by the Fae and forced into their service his entire life. His interest in Skye is strictly business, or so he tells himself. After all, she is 'The One,' destined to save the Seelie Fae from the Unseelie. If he brings her to his masters, he'll win his freedom.

Too bad his attraction to the kind-hearted witch keeps getting in the way.

Throw in a mystery involving the murder of local Pixies and a rich, wonderful Southern setting (warning for Tennessee Vol fans - this one's die-hard Bama, LOL!) and you have a page-turner that will warm your heart and leave you wanting more!

Great for YA and paranormal romance readers :)

I loved the magic of this story! Debbie's mermaid trilogy is wonderful but I love reading about the witches and fairies even more! I love the connection between Skye and Kheelen and just all the fun and magic of the story. I would love to go shopping at The Green Fairy! I couldn't stop reading!

I suppose this was a novel written for teens or YA. So for discloser I must say I'm not a teen. I thought the book was awkward at times but the plot was generally good. It was free so I can't complain too much. The main character Skye, is a struggling witch in college and embarks on a mystery and meets a new guy in her life. I had some trouble with the male lead character because from his own POV he is portrayed as a abused victim and there is just nothing sexy or appealing about that to me. Skye finds him masculine and sexy but to me he seemed weak. The sex scenes were too explicit for my taste but others may feel different.
Then there was the plot/character cliché of young woman/man with low self esteem and gets improved self esteem by the time the book is done. For the record, I feel that this has been done to death. On the bright side, the magical scenes were done well as well as the fairy characters were entertaining. I would encourage the author to keep at it and keep learning and improving.

As usual Debbie Herbert has written an intriguing and interesting book. This story has, fairies, pixies, and witches. Who is killing the pixies? A witch who can't do a spell right and you also have a half human who is enslaved by the face. Of course there is romance, too. You can't
Go wrong buying this book.

Skye is a young witch who is struggling with spells but does have an affinity for crystals. She has a crush on Tanner who is a childhood friend and her brother’s best friend. tanner does not feel the same way toward Skye. There is a mystery about who is killing pixies and right at the Green Fairy which is where Skye works and she is pulled into the mystery. Kheenah comes into Skye’s life . Kheenan is a changeling who was stolen from his natural parents when he was around around two. Kheenan was taken by the Unseelie and has lived a life of slavery he has been abused and neglected. Skye soon learns she is “The One” who is to save the Seelie fae from the Unseelie Fae. Also Skye is attracted to Kheenan but doesn’t know he was attracted to her also.
I like the story and plot however it did drag a bit in places but got through it. The characters were really good. I loved Kheenan and Skye and all the twists and turns they went through. I recommend.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
