About the Author
While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and enjoys traveling--here and abroad--but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.
Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down the stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet). She's learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

I read this entire book with a HUGE smile on my face!! Liam is completely adorable in his own bumbling manner and Shelby is his perfect sassy compliment. I loved how they grew together into their own happily ever after. Great secondary characters, a very compelling storyline and some truly laugh out loud moments made me read late into the night.
Once again Melanie Moreland stole my heart with these characters and this story!
Liam and Shelby’s story is just so much fun!! But it’s not just fun, it’s emotional and has just enough drama to make it very real.
Liam is a young leading man in Hollywood. He’s British but spends most of his time in LA due to his career. He hasn’t had the best luck finding people to help him navigate his life that he trusts. And the paparazzi love interfering in his life!
Shelby needs a fresh start after her scumbag husband leaves her and takes everything they have. Her brother, Everett, is Liam’s manager and gets her an interview to be Liam’s new housekeeper. The rest is history!!
These 2 just fit together like puzzle pieces, they were just meant to be together. Even though it took them awhile to see it! Their friendship was amazing and so real!
The secondary characters were jus fantastic! Everett, Cassidy, Lily, Douglas, Caroline, and Liam’s mother, Liz. Loved them all!!
I highly recommend this book to everyone, you won’t be disappointed!!
The story follows Liam, an actor who doesn't mind letting others take care of him. He's unashamed of the fact that he enjoys being pampered, so when he finds himself without a maid, he can't wait to hire a replacement. Little does Liam know that his new live-in maid will have a huge impact on his life, quickly becoming a friend and confidant, then ultimately something more.
This caught me off-guard in the best of ways, with a hero who is not the norm, a heroine who is his perfect complement, and a relationship that progresses at its own pace. If I have one complaint about the book, it would be the pacing, but perhaps that's just because I've become accustomed to things happening in a certain order within a romance novel. I was engaged in and interested by the story every step of the way, never quite knowing what would happen next, but definitely wanting to find out. Liam is such a lovable hero, and the depth of his feelings for Shelby were so, so swoonworthy. Yes, this has plenty of steamy scenes, but it's got so much heart as well. That's what really makes the book; it will make you smile, make you laugh, warm your heart, and hit you with just a little heartache. I received an ARC via Candi Kane PR (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sweet yet sexy romance.
Melanie Moreland brings all the emotion and passion I have come to expect from her work. She has mastered the art of ensnaring her readers into her story, then smoothly inserting a plot twist that further endears her characters to them. It is an emotionally jarring yet apt turn of events. The path never feels forced or false. Rather it is inherent to the story.
Liam is so much more than a pretty face and easy charm. He only allows a trusted few people see his true heart and humor. Shelby is a nurturer. She thrives on taking care of those close to her, especially Liam. He brings out her silly side and she brings out his maturity. Together they are sublime. Liam is swoony and Shelby is perfect for him!
Liam and Shelby's friendship is precious and love takes them by surprise. Yet, their transition from friends to lovers was organic and realistic. Life and love are not smooth journies. However, their faith in one another and the power of love is awe inspiring. Smashingly, brilliant read!

Shelby is a natural caretaker, has been her whole life. Ask her brother, Everett, Liam's manager. Shelby's husband ran out on her with all her savings & leaving her with a huge amount of debt and in need of a fresh start.
Shelby is a natural choice to help Liam. The interview is a hoot.
Shelby fits into Liam's life as though she's always been there. Best friends with some serious underlying chemistry.
Shelby becomes a major part of Liam's life, organising, planning, cooking, making everything easier for him. She helps him manage his mental health. Liam needs her help & her caring nature. He's like the eternal lost boy. When something happens to Shelby Liam is alpha male all the way. He grows up in a blink of an eye becoming the caretaker & protector, handling the situation.
The secondary characters a fab, engaging & interesting. I'd love to see books for Everett & Cassidy and Douglas & Caroline.
Changing Roles was a fab friends-to-lovers story that was packed with humour, heat, heart and just a little angst.
I adored Liam and his realisation about how he felt about Shelby had him changing steadily but quietly. The character is British and I thought for a Canadian author Melanie did a great job on his language and humour, it’s not often that a non-Brit captures the essence and peculiarities of such a character!
Shelby was awesome. After the end of a marriage gone wrong she ends up in LA with the help of her family. From the minute she meets Liam they hit it off and they soon become great friends who have a wonderful relationship... until things start to change for both of them.
I got Shelby’s apprehension about her age and what people would say about her but I loved how Liam thought about her and his lack of concern for others opinions. They were a perfect pair and balanced each other so well.
A great supporting cast of characters, fantastic banter and nicknames between the MCs and some incidents, that sadly are not fiction in real life for some, all added up to a 5* read for me and one that I would happily recommend.
Some of the Britishness felt a bit forced, we do use other words for brilliant and smashing! I wasn’t certain how he had an English accent, being raised in Scotland, and I half expected to read dinnae fash yersel at some point, but the Scots accent was muted down to weans and the occasional ye.
