I bought this light to use as a timer. I thought I would use it to limit how long I spend on an email at work, since sometimes it take me a while to wordsmith. It's pretty cool as a little timer, but would be nice to have some kind of sound when time is up. After trying this for a while, I soon realized that what I needed was a stopwatch.
Then I started experimenting with other uses for this light. As a night light, or better yet, a timed night light, this is phenomenal. Wandering around the house using the Soft Glow as the only source of light is unexpectedly cool. The light has several colors to choose from, so you can see what effect colors have on your mood or how sleepy or awake you feel. In particular the red light has interesting effects on night vision; after a few minutes in red light I can see like a cat. :) Using timing mode when this is the only source of light works great too. It's almost like a game, since you can't really tell how much time has elapsed and then Poof! the light shuts off and everything's dark. :) Great for making sure teeth get brushed in a timely fashion before going to bed.
I may not be using this light as intended, but I really dig it. Sometimes I run across gadgets that seem interesting, and then I try them out and soon wonder how I got along without them. This is one of those gadgets. It's rechargeable, so there's no reason not to take it everywhere and try using it for different things. I look forward to taking it camping. :)

Charging Cable Not Working
I loved this product the first two days I was able to use it. I work in a school with kiddos with special needs so this timer was great since it didn’t have loud alarms/noises. The charging port on the device is hard to get to — doesn’t align very well with the head of the charging cord. I’ve tried charging it for a whole day and it won’t charge anymore. Not sure if it broke or what — but I can’t use another charging cord with the same port because the cords won’t fit because of the angles on the device. Bummed!
