Well built and solid piece of equipment. Glad I didn't buy the cheap ones and save just $3-5. This came with a cable and I've got it running at least 50-60 feet if not more to an TV input and it works extremely well. Without it there is absolutely no signal at all. I have 3 ports that I'm using and all are working perfectly for HDTV in various ranges, over 30 channels.
I installed the Channel Master amplifier outside our house where the old splitter was. The housing is nice and weatherproofed. I purchased a longer 25' coax cable to power the unit so that it would reach an outlet on the outside of our house; I plan to permanently power it via an outlet in the crawlspace though.
Immediately after connecting everything up, all of our weak and pixelated channels came in clearly! I'm amazed at how such a simple fix resolved all of our issues with weak signal and poor-quality splitters. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to overcome degraded signal due to splitters or too many TVs hooked up to the splitter.
Channel Master CM 3412
This splitter/amplifier has made a huge difference in our OTA reception. The box contained the signal amp/splitter, an AC converter for power, a 6' RF cable to go from the AC converter to the unit and instructions.
We got a new TV and were having some trouble with weak signals and pixellation, which was variable. The signal seemed to be affected by the many trees we have around the house and there is an approximately 60 foot run of coax cable from the roof antenna to the TV location.
As soon as this was plugged in (a 3-4 minute process) the improvement was apparent immediately. Although we are not 100% problem-free, I’d say there was a 90% improvement in signal strength, and clarity of the picture.
Occasionally, especially at night or in bad weather, there are intermittent problems when large vehicles go by on the road; and we are about 10 miles from an airport so I think we may be getting some interference from planes taking off and approaching. I don't think there is much I can do about that. (Never had a problem with analog TV though!) But most of the time watching is a pleasure.
I would definitely recommend this item, it’s a real bargain problem solver at the price. See picture for what's in the box.

To resolve this issue, I got the 4-way distribution amplifier from Channel Master and hooked up the three TVs, leaving the fourth port unused (on a side note, I am using the pre-existing coax setup from my long-ago cable TV provider housed in an outside plastic case to pull in the OTA signal).
The net result of this was that I got all of my stations back, and I got the two Hamilton stations too! So the Hamilton stations were likely too weak when I split it into two, but were restored when I used the distribution amplifier.
The amplifier itself is sturdy and heavy with a smooth painted finish, so it would last even if it were completely exposed to the elements. I love that the input power is provided through a coax cable because you can use your existing coax cable installation to provide power to the unit without running another power cord into your box. I simply plugged the wall wart near one of my unused TV jacks, used a short coax cable to connect the wall wart to the jack, then connected the other end of the corresponding coax line to the power input of the unit. Very easy and I didn't have to use one of my outdoor AC outlets to power the unit. Just make sure that the power-providing coax line is completely isolated and is not connected (via splitter) to any other cables, then test the voltage (~13V DC) of the other end of the power coax cable before you screw it into the unit.
I bought this product in order to improve the signal of my exterior antenna, however, it did not work like that.
This device is only for maintain the incoming signal to a stable output, but if you have a poor incoming signal, it will not be enough.
Buy this device ONLY if your antenna is providing you a good signal.
